Mindless sewing.........
I needed to sew something last night and it needed to be simple. I grabbed the stack of 6" finished batik triangles that I had cut with the Studio die cutter last summer.
I sewed 137 pairs together. It would be enough to make a 60" x 78" quilt if they all look OK together. If they don't it may be parts of 2 quilts for the future. I just needed the hum of the machine and mindless work to finish my day.

I know the feeling.
My mindless project right now involves paper piecing triangle squares. I find it very relaxing.
I got a Go!Cutter for Christmas, I can't wait to start getting into the stash cutting the scraps and then I will have more boxes of pieces to get into to, I'm waiting to get it out of the box though as I have family here for Xmas in a couple days and I need to clean up the sewing room for an air mattress to rest.
I have one similar to yours going on as a leader and ended project. Mine alternate with white and I think it might turn into a rather blah quilt. Yours on the other hand will be stupendous!
I haven't sewn for several days now and I do miss it!
I did something similar last night with my scrap pile. Just sewing, sewing, sewing, with occasional pauses to iron. A great mental break.
I love just sewing pieces together! I try and save some fabric just to do that at times. I have a big bin of scraps that I do made fabric also when I just need to sew. I have to clean out my studio by Friday, as the counter will be used for a Christmas buffet for about 19 people. Hate to put it all away. I really need to sew because of holiday stress. Great that you already had those triangles cut! Do you have a lot of projects "machine-ready" like that? When I want to do something mindless like that, it's hand-sewing, and it's so much slower that I don't have to have a whole lot. So as long as I have a project figured out, it generally won't take me long to cut enough to keep me busy for an evening - IF the pattern and fabric have already been picked.
