I pulled out four more quilts that need borders. This Stack and Slash top had the border and backing fabric hanging with it so it was a no brainer which one to do. The border is navy blue even though it looks like black or charcoal gray. I thought this quilt really needed a border to contain all of the color and also to make it a little larger. It is 62" x 76" now and will shrink a couple inches with quilting. Here is a link to a post that talks about the Stack and Slash quilt. There is a link on it to another blogger's tutorial for it.
I had a leisurely lunch out with three friends yesterday, a perfect day!

That looks fantastic!
Yes! The dark border calms down the quilt and shows off the sparkle!
Yes! this border does indeed contain the color. It is like framing a picture. Perfect!
Love the colors in this quilt!
Five down...how many to go?
Wanda, I love these colors and have copied the pattern from the link you provided. It will be a 2015 project
and probably for myself. Happy you had such a pleasant day yesterday, good for the soul!
That is really pretty. It sounds like it was a great day.
I really like this quilt. I went to the site and read your blog and the other one too. At first I thought the quilt was a Disappearing Four Patch. Your colors are very nice and I, too, like the navy border. Great work as usual Wanda.
I have used Lynne's tutorial, too - it's great!
Love the vibrant colors in your version today.
So I think that December is national border month for your area:)
I love the colors and fabrics in this quilt! And a great border choice - it just sets off that zingy pink/fuchsia color!
I need to try that tutorial - it looks perfect for a stack of fat quarters I got for a birthday present.
