Painting progress and 32 blocks...............

This is the darker of the 2 quarts of paint and therefore is my accent wall.  The room is a big L shape so this wall is in the dining area.  It is a smoky purple and this is a little bluer than it really looks.  It looks like charcoal gray with a purple tint at night.

This is the lighter color and the photo was taken at night.  You can see how the lamp on the left has affected the wall color.  It is almost impossible to show you what it really looks like.  Again it is not as blue as it looks here.  I looked at a smoky blue purple but thought it would only look like gray at night and went with the red purple instead.  It is a little more purple than I want so something halfway between would have probably pleased me more.  With that said, I think I'm going to go ahead with this color for the rest of the room while the paint is on sale.

I finished 12 more blocks 2 nights ago but didn't press them until last night.  I'm sure I'll do some rearranging as I add blocks.  I cut more triangles last night but haven't paired them yet.  I need to decide today whether I will put my bookcase back where it was (left of doorway in top photo) or move it to the other side and hang this large wallhanging (first photo) on the left side.  I can see I need to get a better photo of it now that I have a better camera.  That photo was taken 5 years ago.

Both of the colours are fabulous but I agree that the lighter one is the one I would go with for most of the room. How about the darker as an accent colour for the dining room. Gorgeous.

I hope you are elated with the painting progress - fabulous change!! As far as hanging the quilt, I'm guessing you'll walk around with it, checking here and there and VOILA you'll find the perfect spot!

Congrats to you!!

I LOVE the color of the living room and the way it brings out the different colors in the fireplace bricks! Nice!

WHEW you make me tired, Wanda! How do you know when Ace is giving away the free paint? That's an awesome tip!

Gorgeous colors. Isn't there a really neat color on the wall opposite the fireplace, behind the front door? My recollection says yes...I'm wondering if I'm right, if you plan to repaint it or leave it.

Wow! Love the colors you have chosen, most of us would have walked by. Great idea to move the bookcase and hang up the quilt. It has a translucent quality that demands your attention.

I am surprised you did not do this a long time ago due to your love of color! It looks fabulous yet warm to still feel cozy in the winter months ahead. Great job. I actually love to paint. It is relaxing to me.

My husband is a big purple fan. He would be in purple heaven in a room like this.

Your paint job looks magnificent. You and Miss Ru would get along just fine - both being lovers of purple. And I say hang that wallhanging wherever you will see it the most. It is gorgeous!

The fireplace just "pop's" now. Love those colors you have used ... I am a blue nut and I have my blue walls at our back entry... people exclaim when they come in, "You really like blue don't you ?" (*._,*)

Zig-Zag must be a tread right now... Several people entered Zig-Zag quilts at our local Fair. None as gorgeous as yours !

I love these two colors. Strips and curves quilt will look great on your new wall.
