I have smoothed out the transition from the green into brown and have my purples in place as well as a start with the reds. If you check back here you will see where I left off a couple days ago. I have more cutting to do before I can continue with the reds into browns.
My coneflowers are a much deeper pink this year now that they are in the sun all afternoon. I took this photo around 8 p.m. so the color isn't as deep as it is in the daytime.
The year is half over. If I was smart I would be starting on fall projects now. If the heat ever goes away I can start thinking about painting my living room. I don't like to paint with the windows closed and A/C on.

your color wash is looking great. I looked back and I do see the difference. I doubt I would have realized it could be better.

the color transition looks really good. I always thought purple cone-flowers and black eyed Susan's were flowers that with stood drought - not here - my cone-flowers are drying up and the grasshoppers have eaten a good portion of the Black eyed Susan s - maybe next year my flowers will be pretty like they were in the spring.

I love watching this quilt's progress. Your cone flowers are beautiful. I planted mine into a brighter spot and now they are doing fantastic. They really love the sun.
I love your cone flowers. I've given up on them, someone eats them...the deer, I'm supposing. Good idea not to paint in a closed up house. Plus, you can quilt more for now. :0)
The colorwash is really getting there. It is so pretty. And no, I don't like to paint closed in with the odor either.
