I decided I had to mow the grass yesterday before it gets too long. I use an old fashioned push mower, no motor. I'm really out of shape after our long winter so I had to find a few excuses to take breaks. I noticed my first cranesbill/hardy geranium was blooming so I went in the house to get my camera.
Then a few rows later I was ducking under this branch of my neighbor's crab apple tree where it hangs over my property. I thought it was a good excuse to stop again and take another photo. I got the front mowed so today I'll have to go out and mow the side strip. The back yard has shade grass and it doesn't grow very fast but I may need to mow it this week though.
Happy Mother's Day!!

it's good to stop and admire the flowers! Have a wonderful Mother's Day, Wanda!
What a gorgeous crab apple! And Good For You for using a motorless push mower!! I use a push mower, too, but it does have a motor. ;D
Love the color of the crab apple blossoms... would make lovely fabric, don't you think?
Happy Mothers Day!
that is getting exercise if you are using the old fashioned kind of lawn mower I am thinking of that has no motor! We had one when I was growing up and we all took turns with it - very large yard!
Have a great day.

Good on ya for using the push mower.
Happy Mothers Day
Mowing without a motor.........oh my! I remember trying to do that as a kid, and couldn't do it, I think it would kill me if I tried it now. Glad you have the strength and ambition to it and congrats on finishing the front yard too!
You are a strong woman! I couldn't do it. I love the crab apple blossoms!
Beautiful pictures. It's so wonderful to be side-tracked by the glory of nature.
Happy Mother's Day to you!
You are an inspiration in so many ways. Thank you.
Hi Wanda,
Happy Mother's Day (you are all of our Quilt Mother with your most excellent inspiration).
Love the indigo bunting you showed yesterday! I have never seen one of those in my yard.

I had no idea crab apples could be so beautifully, abundantly colorful!
Wow mowing the old fashioned way. Good for you but a tiring job. The pictures you take are fantastic. On you previous blog you showed a beautiful picture of an Indigo bunting. I have just noticed them in my yard also. I love this time of year when the flowers are blooming and the birds are returning. My early Lilac bush just started blooming also.
