Design wall time.........

I rewarded myself with some design time last night.  Earlier in the afternoon I had passed on my portion of a project to a group that is going to finish it and I finally have some free time.  None of these are sewn, just placed on the design wall.  I think my fabric selection is working well.  How did I select them?  I just pulled a bunch of my favorite batiks, the ones that had been too precious to cut, and then added a few strategic values that were missing.  I think I will limit myself to just this group.  I have enough of each fabric left to cut a few more pieces if I want to make it larger.
This is the view from my mailbox (lower right corner of the photo).  I took my mail out of the mailbox and immediately went to get my camera.  The close up shot a couple days ago is of the lower branch on the left side of the tree in my neighbor's yard.  I have to duck under it when mowing.

I love your layout of the Drunkard's path!! Just beautiful! The fabrics that you chose are gorgeous. Flowering trees are fabulous this time of year. The one thing that I wish is that they would flower all summer long, wouldn't that be great?

I love it. I had no idea that YOU had fabric you considered too precious to cut. That makes the rest of us feel better! ha ha.

I like all your quilts, but this one is stupendous, the colours are so rich and deep, the juxaposition of the circles is wonderful!

Ooh, I love the large and small circles and the way the values make them ebb and recede.

I agree with Gene's comment!

It's always a nervy move to cut fabric that's "too precious to cut". Good for you!

Love that small block thrown in the middle! Can't wait to see the progression of this one. I really need to get my templates out and start cutting some of my own batiks.

I really love the effect of the placement of the batiks you've used! Will be interested to see your progress with this one:)

I can't be any more effusive than everyone else already has been, but I do love it! And the view from your mailbox is great. Spring is turning into summer very quickly -- I see your little weather icon says it's already 81 degrees where you are!

Love the drunkard's path in batiks!! That is going to be a wonderfully rich and beautiful quilt. Our crab apple trees aren't quite ready to bloom yet. I can't wait -- as the smell is so fantastic!
