Did you think I was kidding?

We really do have snow on the ground!  In this flowerbed it is about 16" deep.  It was heavy wet snow too, not like the fluffy stuff when it first came down.  I shoveled about 4" off the sidewalk.  My back complained later.

This is turning toward the driveway from the porch.  In the grassy areas it was about 12" deep in the morning.  It got up above freezing so the snow is compressing now.  The pile is by my driveway, where my plow guy pushes it.

The border is on the Christmas quilt.  I decided to use some denim in the border too rather than try to match the checked flannel if I pieced it. It isn't spectacular looking but it is a quilt that will be crumpled up on the couch, not hanging out full view.

This is the piece I used on the back.  It is a brushed Moda print from one of their Christmas lines about 8 years ago.  I had a huge piece of it and it is so soft.  It's a deeper color than it looks here and the dots are deep red.

I quilted it last night too.  I just did a meander free hand and went around the embroideries instead of through them.  Now I need to pick a binding.

Don't you think my refrigerator belongs in that commercial where they show a bunch of things that look like faces?  I forget whose commercial it is.

A friend made the potholders and gave them to me last year.  I like them as eyes and they are way too pretty to get dirty.

The Christmas quilt turned out really cute, so cozy and snuggly looking. It's been raining steadily since last Tuesday, over a week. It turns to snowflakes at night when the temps drop but the rain during the day melts it away. No shoveling!

Wow, you do have snow and the worst kind... wet and heavy. So far we have been lucky enough and have less than an inch. They say Christmas day we may get a little. Love the quilt and the quilting is perfect for it. Yes, I know the commercial! Your fridge is definitely a candidate for commercial fame.

Love the frig! I'm in Texas where it was 85 degrees yesterday. Don't think we'll get snow like we did last year on Christmas Eve.

Your fridge is so funny. And the quilt just looks comfy and snuggly, without my even feeling it. Mmmm.

We have been lucky and have not received any significate snow fall for the last week and a half. It was really cold - down into the teens - but now we are in the high twenties and lowe thirties - feels like a heat wave - where's the beach!?

Ha, loved your frig. I had a "too nice to use" christmas hand-towel hanging from my frig lower freezer just like you. Now to find something for the eyes....

Chuckle!!! Love the fridge!

That is a lot of snow. It can't be fun to shovel the heavy wet stuff.

I like the denim quilt. It will br really taosty to cover with on the chilly days.

all that snow - too bad there is no one to shovel the snow for you - that is a lot of work.

Love the quilt. Yes, you're right about the fridge, that's so cool.
Still no snow here. They say maybe on Christmas day.

Great border. I like how it is all split up. Binding? Deep red?

I love the quilt and I have the same style of fridge and I wonder if the kids would notice if I did that with mine? Great idea! We have about the same about of snow as you in northern Idaho.

Love the fridge!

Glad I am not dealing with snow. Back where I am from they are getting dumped on big time.

Your fridge made me smile!
Wow, you really do have snow. So far, we have none. The longer it stays at none, the happier I'll be! :-)

Thanks for the refrigerator picture. It made me laugh. I see you have no magnets, calendars, coupons, invitations, phone numbers for plumbers, etc. which cover my refrigator.
sally in st. paul- where I think we can equal or exceed your snow accumulation.

Cute fridge! The Christmas quilt turned out wonderful. And finished just in time. Lots of snow where you are. We still don't have much to speak of, but parts of Ontario got over 2m of the white stuff. (6feet) Glad it wasn't us!

Have a great Christmas! This lot of best wishes come from sub-tropical Australia where it's raining and expected to still be raining until Sunday!

We don't have quite as much snow, but we're not far behind.
I like the border you added to the embroidered denim Q. It's asymmetrically sweet.
The fridge photo was good for a laugh or two today. The bottom towel looks like a couple of big rabbit teeth to complete the face. It's perfect!
