A successful QOV sew-in

Karen chose the kit for this version of a rail quilt.  I didn't notice until I put this on the computer that we have one block turned wrong.  Oops!  I hope she hasn't sewn it together yet.

Several of us worked together on 2 kits to make these 2 tops.  I just reversed the darks and lights for the second one.  Any log cabin layout will work with these blocks.  They need 5" borders to get up to the size they like us to make for the soldiers.  It was a fun day so if you would like to help and live in the Batavia, IL area, come to Prairie Quilt Shop on the first Tues. of the month.  You can sew, press, or hand sew bindings.

The QOV quilt top turned out beautifully. Very appropriate design too. I am sure whomever receives it will love it.

The star layouts are great! I'm going to a QOV sew-in in a few weeks. I can't wait to see what the coordinator has planned.

Isn't it funny how you can make a totally different looking quilt, just by reversing light and dark! I like both versions. And oh boy do I know about now realizing something was the wrong way and sewing it up anyway!

I had to really look to see which block was turned the wrong way. I love that setting -- can just imagine it in very bright colours!

I love seeing how a quilt can look totally different when the blocks are arranged in different ways!

You know, if my parents still lived on the farm near Elburn, I'd be over there doing hand bindings. *S*

Wouldn't that be fun?

Just love the star quilt tops. They are mesmerizing to say the least.

It's kind of interesting that way.

Love the quilts, Wanda. The simple change in layout and the different look is impressive. They're such dramatic patriotic quilts.
I just HAVE to get my act together and finish a couple that are almost done.
Wish I lived a tad bit closer, so I could join in with your group.
The QOV are so appreciated.

There is an endless fascination with setting blocks in differing patterns. All good fun.
Love your pots!
