This batik has several shades of blue and lavender in it so it looked good with the quilt. I have enough of it for the back too.I also sewed more strip sets for the QOV project so I will have enough to make 2 quilt tops.
I mowed about half of my yard with my push mower yesterday. If I don't keep up with the grass it gets too long for this mower and then I have to pay to have it cut. I will finish the mowing today and then it will be time to start in on it again by the weekend. They are talking heat and humidity again for Sunday and more possible rain Sunday night. I really hate to see this nice weather leave us.

Yes, I see what you mean, the darks make it look more adult! I like that pattern, all straight lines and no triangles, I might could even do that!
I like that pattern. Great for scraps! btw, did you get your batting? I'm surprised at the quality and feel of it.
The batik for the border is beautiful! I love the pattern in it, perfect for a lap quilt. We are definitely getting your weather today. As of last night it cooled down just beautifully. The air went off and the windows opened wide!!

it 68 right now but supposed to get up to 90 that is how it is the rest of the week. I have to cut grass too this week - thankfully I can sit while I do it.

Yes I agree it is more of an adult quilt than a baby quilt. I love your border, perfect to highlight the darker colors. This is a great pattern that could be used in so many creative ways.
We usually are a few days behind you in the weather dept. So today is our first day of beautiful low humidity weather.
I haven't had to mow this summer yet because of my bad foot. Maybe I won't tell my husband when it feels better. LOL
Your quilts may be mature, or young at heart, or bright or dark, etc., etc. One CONSTANT is the quality - SUPERB! Many thanks for another inspired piece.

Love the quilt. Our weather was perfect yesterday and today looks like more of the same. Glad you are keeping up with the mowing...doesn't sound like fun, but better to save your money for fabric. lol

Ooo, Wanda, your timing is FANTASTIC!! I was given a bag of patriotic fabric with the stipulation that the quilts be made for soldiers. So guess what my church group will be working on?!! LOL You can see a couple of the blocks on my blog. Thanks for all your inspiration.

Well, that border really ties the quilt together. I could see it as a boy quilt that they could grow into (sometimes typical baby quilts are outgrown rather quickly).
I agree, the past couple days weather has been my idea of "perfect" for summer. I don't need hot and sticky.
