October recap...........

I finished 2 quilt tops in October, both in the first week of the month.  This one is small, 20" square and it was purchased by someone in New Zealand and is there now waiting to be quilted.

This quilt top is 58" x 80.5".  I thought maybe I would put a border on it but the more I think about it, I am pretty sure I'll just quilt it as is for a large couch quilt.

Other fabric related things from October:  I gave a colorwash class, sold 3 finished colorwash wallhangings, cut 42 colorwash kits and sold all of them, started another quilt (big X blocks), started another colorwash wallhanging that is in the tweaking stage, and worked on a small project for a friend.

Now in November I really am going to finish some quilts.  I am going to clean off the long arm table and get busy.  My plan (that probably isn't going to work) is to finish 2 quilts for every one top I finish.  Sending 3 quilts home with my cousin and selling three gives me space to store 6 new finishes.  If I didn't do my own quilting I could make twice as many quilts, maybe three times as many.

Even though I bought a long arm last September, I have a backlog of quilt tops hanging out to be done. I don't think I could let my quilting be done by someone else as I change up the quilting as I go along.

Your two finishes are fabulous. It's good to have goals, even if they are real challenges. I find they help keep me focused.

You had a productive October and November is doable for you! It is great you have sold so much! Sold all 42 kits; that is fantastic! I posted today my goal is to quilt the tea towel quilt and make a couple of baby quilt tops. We'll see how that goes for me! LOL!!

but isn't it satisfying to do your own quilting and say you did the whole thing? I know it is too me and I'm just to budget conscience to pay someone else to do the quilting for me. Love your quilts and I think the larger will look fine as is and with no border unless a narrow one with some of the fabric that was used maybe

I understand your need to quilt some tops. I have several that need to be quilted too but I would much rather piece a top than quilt it. We are all so grateful for the inspiration you give us when you work on another quilt top. Maybe you should sell more tops ?

What a wonderful surprise, to know that one of your colourwash creations will be somewhere here in New Zealand. I hope we get to see it quilted and bound.
