August recap..............

My only finish for the month of August is the banner for a friend's church.  I thought I would show the photo with me in it for perspective on the size of the banner.  I'm just a little over 5' tall.  If you want to see the banner without me you will just have to scroll back to last Friday on the blog.

I did get 3 dishcloths knitted.  I also had a garage sale so the whole first week of the month was taken up by that.  I also did sewing for World Church Services and cut fabric for a friend for her church sewing group.  Many stacks of magazines were carted to a recycling bin in a school parking lot which cleared out part of a closet and a cabinet in the basement.  I am now able to use the cabinet in the basement for the dies for my Accuquilt Studio die cutter.  It was a good month.

Thanks for the perspective- makes the colors even more spectacular knowing the size and scale!

The banner is so gorgeous. I didn't realize how big it really is until you stood next to it! You did have a good month!

Thanks for the size perspective. It really glows like light through a stained glass window.

A good month indeed, and a great photo of you and the banner.

Good morning Wanda....It looks beautiful, especially with you, the artist, in the picture. Looking forward to seeing a photo of it hanging on the wall of the church fortunate enough to be it's recipient. I think you accomplished quite a bit this month, with several things to check off your list. This will be a good week to be inside with all the 90 degree weather predicted for this week. Stay cool.

love seeing how large the banner is and of course with you in it - it really shows the size of something better when someone is standing next to it and it is larger than I had realized.

Wow, you may have mentioned the size, but seeing it with you in it is like seeing a Jackson Pollack with a person for size reference. It was amazing already, but WOW at the size of it.

I think you had a very productive month! I only had one finish myself which was the rock/metal t-shirt quilt. It is not the quantity - it is the quality!

Wanda
My son loves your quilt. He put right on his bed when I brought it over. It will keep him warm and comforted during his chemo and radiations treatments. Thanks so much it turned out lovely. I edged it in Black

I was hoping we'd get another photo of the banner. Wow, Wanda. It is something. Can we get a photo of it in place at the church, please?

I didn't realize it was so large, Wanda. It's BEAUTIFUL! and will look wonderful in a church. (Most excellent picture of you, too.)

Is that the biggest color wash you've ever done? It's an amazing finish! I hope we will get a chance to see it hanging in the church for which you made it.

I like seeing you in the picture. It gives a much better perspective of the size of the banner. It is beautiful and quite a large project. You had some great accomplishments this month, even if it was not finished quilts!

Thanks for showing us the banner with you standing next to it, it shows us how large this banner really is. You had a very busy month so I think this finish for August was just perfect. This banner will inspire so many people at church, it just glows.

Thank you for sharing a picture of the awesome colourwash banner, with you included! It shows the scale like you said, and it is also lovely to see you. When a finish is this fabulous, it doesn't matter that there is only the one!
