Like watching paint dry...........

And then I cut the batting.........isn't watching me finish quilts like watching paint dry?  Not very interesting, and pretty slow speed.  Not much else going on here right now though.

I'm glad I mowed the grass Monday afternoon and evening (2 sessions) because overnight Monday night we got 1.25" of rain.  In closer to Chicago there were some downpours of 4" in isolated areas.  I'm glad we didn't get that.

I'm going to meet a friend in a couple days and maybe we will go to some quilt shops.  I need a day out.

Yep.... paint drying... but its more than I've done the last few days. I did the day out thing last week, and all it did was make me want to have another day like that!!! Sort of like candy...

I marvel that you finish as many quilts as you do! Every time I look at a top that needs to be quilted, I think of another top I want to make!

I love to see your process. Everyone is not as methodical as you. I learn from your steps.

It looks like you have a really convenient way to lay out and cut batting. When I was using a roll, I spent a lot of time on my hands and knees.

Wanda, after all the work you do inside and outside, I seriously believe you need more than a day to go out and play. I can't think of a better way to spend time with a friend, than to visit a few quilt shops and maybe share a nice lunch together. Sounds like a fun and relaxing day! Enjoy yourself.

I am sure that it is actually more productive that drying paint. Making quilts takes some time. I can't believe the number that need quilting...........and I thought I had the most UFOs! I do have a lot but not as many as you.

Your quilts are all beautiful!

Even if we are "watching paint dry" -we still get to see your quilt tops and their colors!

Here's to days out!

Wanda - I start every morning reading your blog & your projects really are beautiful & motivating. Your output is amazing & you still have time to interact with your followers, do your home & garden maintenance plus have a social life. I get tired just thinking about all you do. We appreciate your dedication to your blog too. Also, the advice you gave me re my Christmas Cactus. Thanks for being you.

I love watching the progress of your quilts and the finishing is all part of that. I see you have two trestle tables to measure and cut your batting, and like the fact that your huge role of batting fits right along with the quilt top. Also seeing your quilt has reminded me to get on with the one that I would like to make!

It's a joy and a privilege to watch you make quilts! Why do you think we do it?
