My grandson and his wife brought lunch yesterday and then stayed long enough to help me with a couple heavy duty tasks. Afterwards I did some grocery shopping.
Last night I cut the last stratas into sections and made some more Kaffe 16 patch blocks. I love busy quilts, and I'm sure a few of you wonder why I'm not using white as every other square to "calm" it down. I love all of the patterns in the fabric running together. There are 2 of each of these blocks, so 18 total.
This group of leftover blocks has been hanging around my studio too long and I'm tired of moving them from place to place. I need to do something with them or put them in a box in the basement. They are leftovers from making this quilt which hangs on the wall at my grandson's house in NC.
I have organizing and clean up to do in my main floor studio today so I'm not sure what I will work on tonight.

I love busy quilts too and prints that run together. I love where your 16P is going. My eyes don't need a place to rest!!
Not I--the scrappier the better for me. I love following the different colors about;))))
25 this morning and as we live right on our cul-de-sac, the town plow has plowed us in--and it's garbage pick up day--???What's one to do? And Town Hall is closed so we cannot call to see if there will be a pick up....that is our conundrum for today...

White?!? How boring 🥱, lol. How lovely to get a visit from family as well as some help.
Those waiting strip sets are fantastic seeds for another scrappy quilt -- with your stash of batiks and batik scraps, I suspect it would be gorgeous. Hopefully you get inspired to use these and not just put them in a box.
I love the busy too. Looks good to me
My first thought was a photo of “The Golden Hour” when I opened your blog this morning. A golden glow with a warm and cozy look to a new quilt in the making. Its always good to get some help for these heavy tasks we have. Especially from your grandson and his wife.
I like busy, too. Your latest 16 patches are nice combinations. I imagine the wonky strata cut with curvy sides....
Your blocks are too busy to me. I rarely use white or whit-on-white fabrics any more. A friend has offered her and her husband's help moving some heavy stuff out of my house once the weather warms up (I know it has to eventually).

I just love the busy quilts especially with such great fabrics! Yours looks terrific
Love the intense look of the busy blocks! You are the queen of cramming in as much color as possible!
bring lunch, getting a visit and helping with some heavy work is always so appreciated.
Beautiful rich 16 patch blocks!! Always been a favourite of mine. I'm so pleased you posted the group of leftover blocks
and visited the quilt you mentioned, I have stacks of strips and have been thinking of what to make with them, some will be 16 patch definitely but I's love to have a go at the uneven width strips used in your blocks.
It would not be as lovely with the white in it. You fabric contrasts are all it needs to make it a sure winner.
