I'll start with the oldest UFO, from 1991. It is an original design small piece I started in a workshop. It only needs 2 side borders and it could be a baby quilt. You will get to see the whole thing when I finish it, which will be soon.
This is the second oldest one. I started it in 2013. Here is the latest photo of the layout which I will need to refer back to. I thought I had all of the blocks sewn and that photo confirms it. It looks like I will have a border to piece after I get the main part pieced. I'm so close to done on this one that I think this is the year to do it.
I have another from a few years ago and I haven't found it yet. I moved it when the plumber had to put in a new pipe at the basement ceiling. You know where it is, then you move it and it is a mystery where it ended up. Well, back to this photo, these blocks are from the end of 2024. I had determined a layout so they are pinned in columns ready for me to decide if I'm going to fight with matching all of the points when sewing blocks together, or if I'm going to put a very narrow sashing between blocks. Here is the post where I was deciding on a layout.
When I was in the basement looking around, I found this box with 2 triangle squares from all of the same fabrics as the stars. Maybe they could be used in a border. I need to make a decision and get this one done too.
This has been on a design wall in the basement for about 6 months, nothing sewn here, just a layout. I need to cut more of the half square triangles if I'm going to really make this one.
I have lots of other pieces cut for it and for another quilt, cutting for two at the same time. I started the layout for the other one but then took the pieces off the wall because I want to work on a larger design wall.
Also started last year was this medallion quilt. I intended for it to be a slow process quilt to be made over a long period of time. Last night I put the 4 patches up on the right side to see if they are a contender for one of the borders. I need to sew on those 2 strips first and find a strip for the top and then I can make more decisions on it.
I looked out at just the right time to take a photo of the super moon. There is a little echo moon to the left of it and that is probably because I took the photo through a window. It was 16 degrees outside and I didn't want to go out.

What beautiful colors in all these UFO’s. Stepping Stones will be a gorgeous quilt. I think the quilt name just does not convey how amazing the pattern is. I vote for not struggling to match all the points on the star blocks.
You have a lovely assortment of UFO's to work on this year, Wanda;))) I especially like those flowery stars!:))
Only 15 here this morning--brrrrr. I only have one errand today--so it'll be in and out of the car very quickly I think...
I have a very old "Honeybun" that I want to unfold today for a new machine sewing project...di plan to lint roll the edges to offset all those dusty bits that seem to float around everywhere upon opening...
hugs, Julierose
The moon truly was beautiful last night. I also would like to address my UFOs this year.
I love the medallion quilt and, if it were me, I would add the skinny sashing to the floral stars (the idea of the HST border is intriguing). The Stepping Stones will be a stunner. My UFOs are all in the already-cut-out-ready-to-sew stage so they're not nearly as appealing to look at as your beauties.
sawtooth stars: what if you offset them by half a block? then you won't need to match those points, and it will also cut down on the bulk.
What a great array of UFO’s ~ will look forward to see which one you will select to get finished . And oh my that moon last night was beautiful.
Lots to ponder with the latest batch of UFOs. I should really make a list so I actually work on some of them. I finished 1 top from 2022 and have only a border needed on a 2nd, also from 2022. There are other, much older UFOs, of course. I didn't even think to look for the moon last night, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was too cloudy to see it.

You certainly have great UFOs. All will look wonderful- the fabric and colors and pattern. I still have not climbed out of the holiday aftermath yet.
What a wonderful grouping of fun projects! I really love them all...but the medallion project just grabs at me. Seeing it in person...what a great inspiration for your studio! I love that Marcia Derse project. And your floral stars...yummy! However you decide to finish that one up, block to block or with some skinny sashing...it will be beautiful. Glorious, exuberant color! Create on>>>>>
What beautiful and colorful UFOs await your full attention and imagination! It will be a treat to watch these be completed in the coming weeks or months.
I have a couple of UFOs that need outer borders but two of them are far too large for me to quilt and may well need a home loan to pay a long arm quilter to do it. I hope to machine quilt two smaller UFOs this year. Small goal, but lupus fatigue is not imaginary.
Hugs!
I love the subtle variations on the star blocks. I also love the triangles design on your design wall!
I love Stepping Stones I know I almost bought that pattern at one time - the colors are great too. Some of these look like they could be fast finishes for you
Pretty sure I have some oldies too. I like the water color pieces/florals.
You have some cool UFOs just waiting to be finished! I think I would work on whichever one would be the quickest to finish. Maybe do one old UFO a month.
The Stepping Stones quilt is one that I've thought about making for a long time.
I bought that paper pieced Stepping Stones pattern well before the panedmic started. I keep thinking I should dig in and make it. I have a ton of left over 2.5 inch strips that would work well. Maybe I should tackle this one this year.
