16 more blocks are ready to join the first 36. There are some strange greens in this batch so I hope they will play well with the others. I didn't get the new fabric I pulled cut into strips yet. I did get it pressed so I should get the cutting done today.
These 4 blocks are low contrast so I hope they will work in the quilt. If not, they will become a table mat.
We're back below zero again this morning and won't get up to 20 until Saturday. We only got a little over an inch of snow but Chicago had lake effect snow and had up to 10" in some areas. It looks like the extreme cold is moving south today and that's not good news for the areas that have lost power with the big storm.

I couldn’t settle yesterday. It snowed all day and we ended up with 13” of snow. I guess there’s too much light blue in the purple batik to give the block good contrast.
The sun has come out as I type this -- but I have yet to bundle up to retrieve today's Trib from the driveway. Any weird greens will look fine when they're scattered in the quilt.
Pretty blocks! Looks like you are going to have fun playing with these before you settle on a final layout.
I especially like the block in the lower left corner. Our weather was bad enough to pretty much shut things down here for a while, but we were fortunate enough to keep power and should start seeing it melt this afternoon.
Fascinating fabric combinations on this Double four patch you’ve shown today. Looking forward to your final layout.
That batik with the large pink/blue flowers seems to blur the edges of the block so hope those blocks are far apart in the quilt layout you choose. Of course, it's your quilt so put 'em where you like 'em!
All is frozen outdoors here and the frozen snow is as icy hard as a skating rink. May everyone's bones stay intact and may the high be well above freezing soon.
Hugs!
down to 9 tonight but we are having a lot of sun but about 28 out there not much melting going on - the road is a sheet of ice even after the plow has been out there. But we have over freezing the next 3 days so melting should occur. I haven't done any sewing again today just haven't been in the mood.
