I really thought I was going to have blocks up on the design wall yesterday. I pressed the final batch, sorted them into 2 piles with one light block and one dark block of each combination in it. Then I took other projects off the design wall to make enough space to design the top half of the quilt. That was it, no more ambition to get anything done. I'm going to blame the cold weather for it. We got up to 17 degrees yesterday, a couple degrees higher than they predicted. We have had sunshine for 2 days in a row, producing a month with higher than average sunshine. I think that happened in January last year too and then February had lots of overcast days.
While I was in the basement I put away the nine red and black batik fabrics. They are also Bali batiks from the 1990s, like the black and white ones are.

Well you got the pressing all done--so that is progress, Wanda;))) This cold weather, even if we don't venture out that much, is taking its toll, I think...9 here this morning and looks like the sun will be shining as it rises over the hill behind us...
At least we can see our driveway now... I will be making a slo-cooker pot roast for dinner tonight to warm us up ...hugs, Julierose
The blocks are ready so that is big! I am so ready for this bitter cold to go away! I would be happy for 32 degrees!
When the ambition runs out, it's time to stop. Happens here, too. No sense fighting with it, just better to stop and go read or putter with something else.
Love your blocks and congratulate you on getting them made and pressed. As we remain iced in, I'm finding it hard to be productive so sit and read and read. Good grief!
Hugs!
I blame the lack of progress on my quilting on the weather I am starting to feel housebound and bored even with getting out to go shopping. I can barely walk to the bird feeders outside to fill them because of the snow and ice - it is refreezing at night now so one needs to be so careful. Thank goodness for a warm up here I hope enough will be melted to start moving around a little better outside soon. Even in winter if there is no snow on the ground I usually get a jacket on and take a short walk outside even if that is just round and round the yard.
It was such a relief to see sunshine return. There are still some patches of ice in the shade, but pretty much everything here clearing out.
You had a slow day yesterday ~ for me it would be a good progressive day. Our environment plays a big role for our productivity I think. Your find of reds and blacks truly has a wonderful warm glow.
It has been brutally cold for you guys. I’d become a bear and hibernate for the winter.
