Quilting the pinwheels.................

When I got home from PT yesterday I basted this little pinwheel quilt and started quilting it last night.  I'm ditch quilting this one with white thread.  I have 9 more rows to stitch and then I can trim it and choose binding.  I have a feeling it will be a black and white stipe binding.

I wasn't sure if I was going to order any of the new Kaffe line "from the archives" since I still had some pieces of the original fabrics.  There were however 2 that I didn't have and 4 that I was either out of or down to the last little scrap.  I decided to preorder some half yards and they came in the mail yesterday.

I think the whole first week of January will be spent organizing things.  I have piles of Kaffe fabric that haven't been worked back into the stacks.  Since the Kaffe fabric is stored in my bedroom now and I'll do the sorting on my bed, it will have to be done in one day.

Tomorrow I hope to have my December recap and the final photos of the pinwheel baby quilt in my post, and the following day I will have the yearly recap.

What, you don’t want to sleep under Kaffe fabric? ;-) I have started hunting for a panel I bought a couple of years ago for a graduation quilt and the young man graduates this June. I’ll be searching and organizing fabric the first week of January, too. You really did a great job finishing projects in December. You exceeded your goal, didn’t you?

Do you have the new-strike fabric to compare to the original? I wonder if the quality is the same. One of my 2026 resolutions is to pay a visit to you to see all that Kaffe (etc.) in person!

Smart to have enough black and whites for backgrounds. I never have enough of these or indeed of any background. Good new year resolution.

Love that green leafy KF one especially, Wanda;))) but all really pretty. I like the B&W Zebra print a whole lot, too... I want to winnow out my own KF fabrics from my color stacks into a separate box. I'd like to do an Ojos using KF's in the new year. Can you believe that the first 1/4 century of 2000 has gone by in what feels like a flash??? Phew!! ;000
I hope your New Year will be a very happy and healthy one...
hugs, Julierose ;))))

I've spent the last day and a half doing year-end stuff and prepping for the start of the New Year (blech). Once we get the phones sorted (Friday) and Christmas packed away (weekend), I want/need to fondle fabric. I've missed it this month but unlike you, I've not made much progress at all with my quilts. LOVE that your Kaffe stash is in your bedroom where you see them every single morning when you wake up :-)

The pinwheel quilt is so cute! The zebra fabric on the back is great! I am trying to straighten up a bit every day. My fabric storage room has gotten out of hand and the guest room - well, both twin beds are pile with stuff. Yikes!

I think Pinwheel quilts are always such happy quilts and your new quilt is no exception. Well done for your 2025 round-up!
Happy New Year and may it be kind to everyone, everywhere.

Hugs!
