Finish # 3 for December 2025

This quilt with Kaffe collective fabrics was finished on Wednesday.  It is 52.5" x 74".  It has 80/20 batting in it and it was quilted by Robin Diaz.  It is a nice throw quilt size.

The back is three strips of Kaffe collective fabric, leftovers from making backings for other quilts.

I treated myself to a fat quarter pack of Tim Holtz neutrals and 2 half yards.  I think I'll look through my Stonehenge fabrics to pair with them in a 16 patch quilt.  Or maybe a quilt of all triangles.  Or maybe Sawtooth stars and 16 patches.

I quilted my Christmas table runner last night with gold metallic thread.  You never know if it will be a good day with metallic thread so ditch quilting was best in case I had trouble.  I changed to a topstitch needle with a big eye to give it a chance to work well.  It did break 4 times but not until I was almost to the end.  I'll get it trimmed today ad cut the binding.

Beautiful KF quilt finish, Wanda;))) Such a pretty mix of patterns in this one--very warm looking.
Only 22 here this early morning...it's gotten pretty cold overnight...
Love the gold thread on your table runner--I find metallics difficult to manage by hand, too...I've never tried them on my machine...
I hope your upcoming weekend is a good one...hugs, Julierose

Oh, love your Tim Holtz additions! And finish number four is coming fast on the heels of number three. Thread breakage is the challenge with metallics, isn’t it….glad most of your stitch in the ditch went smoothly. 19 degrees out this morning with about an inch of snow falling overnight.

A finish, a near-finish, and new fabric to play with = absolute delight! (I have been leery of metallic thread since the time I ruined the tension discs on my sewing machine (and I had only one machine in those days.)

I especially love this quilt. The black and white fabric looks so great against the bright colors. I have been using some Tim Holtz fabric too. It is lovely.

Another fabulous finish! Love all the bright colors contrasting with the b&w print. I love the Tim Holtz fabric you bought. I am afraid to buy any because I don't think I would be able to stop! There are so many color groups of his fabric it would be hard to pick which one to buy.

What a happy and interesting quilt the KF quilt is and I predict it won't stay at your house for very long!
Your new neutrals should look amazing with your Stonehenge fabrics. I'll be interested to see how they look together.
Have fun and stay warm!

Hugs!
