The first day of every month is usually spent looking through things, attempting to clean off a table, just miscellaneous things.
I have had the 2 fabrics laying on my die cutter for over a week so I finally cut the pieces I needed for one more block.
I sewed the last block and then sewed this piece together. It will be the center of a medallion quilt, to be designed slowly, a little at a time. It is approximately 30" x 40" right now.
With those pieces off the design wall I could do the layout for these pinwheel blocks. I need to decide if the setting triangles will be all one fabric or a variety of fabrics. I'm down to a large stack of 1/4 to 1/2 yard pieces in my black and white stash. There are a few 3/4 to 1 yard pieces.
Then I looked for fabrics that might be a backing for it if it is going to be a baby quilt. This is the group I came up with on my first search through the black and white fabrics. Since I will only need a yard, there might be others that will work.
I finished another dishcloth while contemplating other things.

To me black & white quilts are always pretty although I've yet to make one 😆 luv the triangle center for the medallion quilt, I've 2 medallions to finish
Interesting idea for a medallion center--it will be fun to watch this one grow. I like the b/w variety (especially the zebras). And your dishcloth is b/w, too. Warmer weather coming!
I really like the pinwheel layout. You sure have a lot of zebra fabric! I have a lot of bicycle fabric. LOL!!
That will be a great center for the medallion style quilt, Wanda--you will have a wide range of colors to use--the pinwheels are pretty in that different layout, too. Nice group of B&W's love the funny cows--they made me smile...
46 here this morning--dewpoint 41--a couple of chillier days in store for us here...
Hugs, Julierose
LOVE those black and whites! You always have the most lovely projects in the works!
It will be fun watching the medallion quilt slowly develop :). I, too, like the layout of the pinwheels and you have some great fabrics to chose from for the setting triangles and the backing!
Hi Wanda, always a treat to visit you and see what you are sewing. So much beauty of your walls and tables. And I love you are knitting too. I must get out my needles.
I'm looking forward to seeing your medalion quilt come together. The color mix in it is beautiful. That's quite an assortment of zebra fabric. Do you think the predominantly black ones might show through to the front? I really like the zebra fabric with the black background.
Lovely and Lively post today Wanda ~ such fun to see your black ‘n white zebras. I know how much you love them.
The medallion center will be ideal for all sorts of borders you think up and imagine as what should come next for this quilt.
l love the pinwheels and those jazzy and funny black and white fabrics plus your b/w dishcloth.
48*F here this morning so we're thinking of turning on the heat. Problem is it will be 73*F this afternoon so won't want heating then.
Hugs!
Black and white fabrics are about my favorites, love those zebras. Hope blogger will accept my comment this time.
The pinwheels on point setting really creates a lot of visual movement and secondary patterns. I love it!
I am wondering what the medallion quilt will look like and will enjoy seeing it come together
Ooh, a medallion quilt! That will be fun to watch!
