I had a hard time getting motivated to do anything yesterday. Some days are like that.
In the afternoon I went searching for candidates for the setting triangles and corner triangles and came up with this group of 10. There are 8 side triangles and 4 corners. I could use 8 different ones for the sides and the same one for all 4 corners and just use 9 of the10....or chose 2 for the side triangles and use the same 2 on all 4 sides for a total of 3 needed. I just didn't want to make a decision yesterday.
I looked over at the tree across the street that got severely trimmed a couple weeks ago and it looks like all of the part that was still green has turned brown. I'm not sure if that is from the shock of all of the trimming or if it is really all dead now. I wish the city would just take it down. All of the wires you see here are coming from across the street to my side of the street before they get to the tree.
It got up to 90 yesterday. Our normal high right now is 69. That is closer to what our overnight temperature will be. We have a few more days of the near 90 degree weather and then will drop to 68 on Tuesday (IF the forecast is right).

Yes, it would be good if the city would take down the tree. I hate looking at butchered trees :( I like the assortment of b/w prints you’ve selected.
Love the funny giraffes and squiggly lined fabrics, Wanda--your stash is so full of fun fabrics... ;)))
WOW 90 in October--it's 54 this morning and scheduled to go
up, up, up for the next few days! I have yet to change out my Summer tops for the Winter ones...
Have a great weekend...hugs, Julierose
That's a great assortment for the triangles. Everyone gets to have an occasional lazy day. That tree is not looking good at all.
A day off once in a while is good! At least the dead tree won't fall on anything. The b/w assortment will work well.
I think I have spring fever in the fall. I can't seem to settle and do something.
I hear you about the remaining part of the tree - Not a pretty sight. Totally understand the lazy day syndrome. It happens here, too. Once you get started on the setting triangles/corners, you will know which ones to use so no worries.
Great black on white collection ~ any one of them will work for your triangles.
That tree looks dead to me… the city will probably ignore it till it all falls down, and I agree it should be taken down before it does more damage.
And no apologies needed about a lazy day ~ we both are way past retirement and can do whatever we have the energy to do each day.
yes that tree looks dead, I hate when they do that they trim a tree back severely so it won't drop on power lines and then leave it looking ugly - the power company did that to several trees of ours one year and Mike ended up cutting the rest of the tree parts down himself as they looked awful - for one they left a skinny tree with one branch on it - what was the sense of that! I like the selection of black/white fabric.
What a great selection of setting triangle fabrics! It paid well for the time it took to look through your marvelous stash, didn't it?
Sad looking tree and hope the rest comes down without causing any damage.
Yes, a day off is a good thing and well earned even when you're retired!
Hugs!
You have some nice background fabrics for the triangles. Decisions, decisions...!
I loved seeing your black and white fabrics pull. I’ve had two of them in the past - the giraffes and the fashion words. We have a big honey locust tree in front of and between our condo and our next-door neighbor’s. It’s being removed in November or December by the HOA because its roots are destroying the neighbor’s walkway and driveway. It may turn the shade parts of my garden into a sunny area, so I may be doing more plant shuffling and planting in the spring. (Which, to me is as sad as “having” to go out and buy fabric! 🤣)
