I finally sorted all of my African fabrics by color and then checked to see which ones I needed to cut. I spent the whole day cutting 2.5" squares and then I looked through my regular fabrics for some that look like African prints. I found the 4 on the left bottom corner on my first pass through the fabrics. I also looked through some batiks for some that looked compatible.
This is my final layout for the African fabric colorwash. I will take the pieces off the design wall today so I can start another one.
Today is my great-granddaughter's first birthday. Her next older brother who turned 4 at the end of August just had the training wheels taken off his bike and away he rode! Her oldest brother is off to school each day. Lots of excitement with the little ones who live miles and miles from me.

Great, dear Wanda !!!
Lovely colorwash--Stay safe hugs, julierose
Like I said before, I'm not a huge fan of the African fabrics until seeing them cut up and used in your color wash. I doubt I'll add many to my stash but I can surely enjoy yours!
Wanda, I think it's absolutely gorgeous. Makes me want a stash of African fabric for myself. Where did you purchase yours?
That's going to be so pretty!
The fabric you found go perfecting with the African fabrics. What a great stash you have!
This is beautiful! I have a selection of African fabric too, but not as many colors as you. I will have to keep collecting so I can make a colorwash like yours!
Oh I love these colors and the effect is just gorgeous! I hope to be able to do something like this one day!
This design just sings!
