One block short................
This is one block each of 31 different pairs of fabric. There are 2 blocks alike of each combination that will be in the finished quilt. I thought I was done cutting and had all that I needed but I need 63 blocks and I only have 62 made. There is a flaw on one block so I will be able to eliminate it as I make 2 blocks with another combination of fabrics.
I decided to just buy the 2 hanging baskets already made up this year. They were so pretty I couldn't resist them.
My pink Columbine is blooming now.
Also the very pale pink, almost white Columbine is blooming too.
The little star flowers are out there again. A lot of us call this plant Wild Onion because the root of every blade of grass like leaf is like a tiny onion. It comes up all over the place and it is almost impossible to get all of those tiny bulbs when digging it out.

Quilt looking good as well as those hanging baskets. It is so great to see green and colors again outside!
every time I buy hanging baskets of flowers they look so lovely when I get them and within a month the flowers are all dead and they get very few flowers on them for the rest of the summer - the greenery will look good but no flowers. I certainly do not have a green thumb for flowery hanging baskets and I wish I did!

Around here, those star flowers are known as Star of Bethlehem. And you're right...comes up all over, tiny bulbs, and hard to get rid of. Pretty plant, though.
Those blocks all look so nice. The hanging baskets are also so colorful and pretty.

Ah, yes, Star of Bethlehem, impossible to totally remove and they come up everywhere. Fortunately, the 'leaves' die back swiftly. When I accidentally dig them up when planting I toss them out, not in the compost. I used to have lots of Columbine which seeded themselves profusely, but they seem to have worn themselves out, not helped by the fact that either the deer or the rabbits or both are feasting on them. Columbine are supposed to be deer-resistent, but my deer are illiterate or don't read the same gardening books as I do.

Sometimes it's just a good thing to get baskets already made! I tried this year and could not find any I liked, so ended up mixing and matching from bedding plants. Sort of like making a quilt, isn't it?
