Working on a project..........

My daughter took this photo of me on Friday while I was sewing the seams on a colorwash.  She and I have been working for a couple months on an online class for colorwash.  Since this trip was sudden and unplanned for them (funeral) they added a couple days to the trip and she did as much of the video part as we could do while she was here.  Since she lives 1000 miles away we have to take advantage of every minute we are together.  We hope to have the class available for purchase in late May and start it the first week of June.  I also have batik and Kaffe Fassett kits cut that will be available as an add-on to the class purchase.  We still have a month of work to do to get it ready.  If you are interested in advance notice of the class be sure you are on the mailing list.  Sign up here.
I found this tiny iron that is ideal for pressing rows of squares 2.5" wide while they are all webbed together.  You don't bump into the rows next to the one you are pressing with it.

Even though it is a steam iron I haven't added any water to it yet.

I use a small travel iron. I added steam twice and was surprised at the amount of steam it produced. They are handy. Looks like your are doing well. Chris

You are looking good Wanda. I’ve seen quite a few of those little irons lately, some just palm size.

I have that little iron - I had originally bought it for the camper to press wrinkled t-shirts and things plus my hand work when traveling - it doesn't slide across t-shirts very well - but it is great for handwork - I have added steam and that works good too.
looking forward to hearing more about the class

I have one of those irons and I have put water in the reservoir and steamed with it. it works great but you do have to refill it often.

The online class is a great idea, I'm sure you'll have lots of bloggers interested! I like the look of the small iron, there may be something of a similar size here in NZ, I should check out the stores.

Your on-line color wash class sounds exciting, and I'm looking forward to it. That's one cute little iron. Speaking of cute, so are you, I'm glad your daughter took that photo.

I have that teeny Steamfast iron. It was invaluable on retreat and at home when sewing Dresden plates. By the way, it fits perfectly inside a plastic Sterilite brand index card box with hinged lid. Easier to store safely.

I have adored and wanted to make one if your colorwash quilts since I first saw it. I am so excited you are going to do an online class for it. I also have a little iron like yours, but I forgot it was on and I managed to burn my ironing cover. Patricia x
