Plaid half hexagon top..............

Here is the quilt top before trimming.  The lighting is much better here than the wall where I was designing it.

This is after trimming off the points top and bottom, 73" x 93".

From this view you can judge the size better.

The photo at the top of this post was taken sideways on the design walls.  With the quilt turned as it will be used it is dragging on the floor about 12".

Who would think that these plaids would look so pretty? Well, you did and they do.

Fascinating, each time I look at your hexagons, I see a different pattern fall into place. The colors play such a unique part in all of this. A fun happy quilt top Wanda. And fun to study.

You've achieved such crispness in this top. I think sometimes plaids can turn muddy, but these colors just glow. Again, it's helpful to see on the design wall to get an idea of size (both of the quilt and the hexagon pieces). Wonderful.

what size are these half hexies? I think this will be the next die that I buy - it would be easy to cut up the scraps for a one template quilt - I have the tumblers and will be doing one of that too. I lover your plaids - I don't have but a few plaids so mine will need to be just plain scrappy of whatever I cut.

Oh, this is just so sparkly and lovely to explore all the fabrics.

Same question as Karen, please.
I do not have a die cutter but it’s not impossible to cut this shape from strips, and on the basis that “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” your lovely top has given me an idea of how to use up my own collection of plaids.

Gosh the lighting really makes a difference with this plaid quilt, it's more vibrant than I had thought.
A good sized quilt.
