When I made the 16 patch quilt top I was working mostly with 2.5" strips that I had already cut over the years. Now I am thinking about a second neutral quilt so I needed to go through yardage and see how many I could find.
I kept finding more and think I ended up with about 38. In the 16 patch quilt I have 47 different fabrics. One was used twice. This is a daylight photo so the colors are a little washed out. They are deeper tones than they appear here. Now I have to decide what block I want to make.

I just love the richness of a quilt made with lots of different fabrics. The texture and the tones are so varied and show off all the nuances of a color.
Those are such beautiful neutrals! You have such a variety in the first quilt that no one would ever spot a fabric was used twice. I was trying to use only one of each fabric in my herringbone quilts, but I am quickly running out of fabric. The newest one I used duplicates of the lights and it looks fine so I am going with it. LOL!! After all these are just giveaway baby quilts.
You are really on a roll in 2018. I'm looking forward to seeing the second in your neutrals series.
Wonderful gathering of neutrals - rich and earthy with a bit of glowing mixed in. Lovely!
What a beautiful selection of neutrals--very rich looking!
Funny, isn't it -- you think you've cleared out a cache of fabric and then a bunch more turns up. (How about making a 16-patch and setting the blocks on point?)
Now that is a a fantastic stash find!
I would love to read a post just on your stash and scraps. It sounds like an amazing inventory!

Another neutral piece to have fun with designing. Your fabrics fanned out shows off your colorful tones of neutrality. I am sure by the time you read this you already have the first block designed and are on a roll.
