Bricks on the wall..............

I cut 8 bricks from each of 31 neutral fabrics and started playing with a layout with 2 of each.

I'm thinking I need to add more variety and found these 2 fabrics last night that I will cut today.

This is one batik that was in the 16 patch that I didn't cut for this quilt.  I have 1 7/8 yards of it so it is a potential back for the 16 patch quilt.  I haven't decided if I should use if for that or just keep cutting it up.  It is darker than it looks here.

You can see it here in the top right block and the bottom left block.  This is truer in color than the photo above.

The bricks give a whole other look to the design. The squares had pin pricks of light sparkling through, the bricks are more structural pieces of color.

More fabrics are always better! I like the way the very light bricks give the illusion of spaces in the wall that you could look thru.

I love text fabrics mixed into the tops - so I would cut it up and use something else to back the sixteen patch.

Oh Wanda ~ those bricks are phenomenal, like your neutrals even better than the 16 patch. And the 16 patch is wonderful.... These bricks already has a strong, rich appeal. I LOVE IT !
