Finish #22 for 2017

I knew I needed to have another finish soon so I chose this flannel tumbler baby quilt as the next in line.  It is 37.5" x 55.5" so I didn't have to piece the back.

I didn't have very many pieces of flannel large enough that also looked good with the front.  This backing fabric is a spatter print with a nice warm beige/gold background.

I used a brown and black check flannel for the binding and did it all by machine.

I have a couple more small to medium size tops that I may quilt next.

What a warm and cozy quilt! Congratulations on another finish for the year. There have been some good sales on flannel and I have tried to resist, but I did buy a bunch of pink for a backing. I have a lot of leftover pink flannels from when I made my sister her pink and lavender flannel quilt. I want to use them up, but I didn't have anything for the backing. I got some printed pink on clearance from Hancock's of Paducah that was $3.99 and got another 20% off with a promo code! I bought enough other fabric - all on clearance and the extra 20% off - that I also got free shipping! I think they lost money on me, but I helped clear out some of their fabric.

I have a bit of flannel left over from the quilt that is on the frame right now - I'm not sure what I have but I have a feeling I could make a companion piece with it - maybe a runner for this quilt to have extra over the legs on cold nights or enough left to make a couch size quilt - I really need to measure it one day but not in a rush

That quilt will be a treasure for whatever lil baby receives it. I love it and know baby will tumble right into it ! (*._.*) And it will be one that baby will carry around for years.
