More Thanksgiving prep...........

Yesterday was the day to move the last few things out of the guest bedroom and then bake chocolate Spritz cookies.  I use the recipe in the 1950s Betty Crocker cookbook.  They are a favorite of one of my grandsons and several others in the family.
In the evening to relax I do some knitting on dishcloths.  I like to have 2 or 3 going at the same time and then I can knit on whichever color I want.  My east coast family and Colorado family both arrive today.  On Thanksgiving day everyone is going to the other side of the family parties.  Our dinner will be on Friday.

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your family. Today is prep day.... chop veggies for stuffing and make the pie.. I will think about anything else... and then load a quilt on the frame. Wanted to get that done yesterday, but decided I didn't like the backing and was out of batting.... Enjoy your family.

Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving with family! I am doing all the prep myself and hosting not a big crew as people have other plans. Thank you, Wanda, for being the wonderful, talented, creative, sharing, inspiring, consistent, persevering, and exuberant person you are!

I have that same cookbook, Wanda! I have not made Spritz cookies in years....will definitely make them, now that you have reminded me about them....I have never made chocolate ones, but they sound delicious!
Your toffee looked delicious, as well, in yesterday's post...I tried to leave you a comment, but my computer was not cooperating! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe. We have some old recipes written in my husband's grandmother's own hand...they mean so much to us...She died many years ago, just before she would have turned 100.... She always made the best dishes...especially at the holidays...such great memories....
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy your family time....

I've been making spritz cookies for years and years and years. The ultimate favorite with my family is using almond extract. Happy Thanksgiving and I love all your quilting - wish I had your talent on working with colors and patterns. All the best, Katie

Thanks for reminding me of how yummy spritz cookies are, and how fun they are to make. I've never tried chocolate ones...
I might make a batch tonight. DD and her partner are coming for the weekend, arriving tomorrow, after three years in EU. I'm excited!
