Mixing in the new blocks.........

I sewed 24 more 16 patch blocks yesterday.  Here they are ready for pressing.

This is the group of new color combinations and there are 3 blocks in each stack

I mixed them in with the others.  It looks a lot lighter here than it does in person.  It is really a rich deep toned group.  Right now this would measure 28" x 32" so there is a long way to go yet.  I haven't decided on a big new project yet.  I need to make a list of everything that needs to get done before the family all get here Thanksgiving week and plan all of that first.

Could you share some of your thought process when matching/selecting the 2 fabrics that you use when doing a 16 patch block? I love how they appear to be random choices, but I know that they are planned.

What pretty blocks! We have got a lot of rain over the last 24 hours. I don't know how much, but it rained hard for a long time last night. Saturday was nice out and I should have mowed.

I'm liking this more as more colours are added. After the Christmas gift making is out of the way I'm hoping to make my first 16 patch blocks. I've watched you making them a few times so I know they are not too difficult to sew, just getting the colours right. Our clocks went back last week and the nights are darker earlier now, and colder, so out came my thermals! Not much done in the garden the past few weeks and some tidying up needs to be done. Brrrr, looking forward to Spring already. I've been knitting all week, the first time for years, but something you don't forget. Hope your list of things to do isn't too long :)

I do agree as this 26 patch grows it becomes more beautiful . The black adds such a brilliance to this piece. Yes black (*._.*).

Just scrolled through your 'pop up shop'. Another outstanding offering.

These blocks sparkle! Love the turquoise squares and the little peeps of lime green.
