Getting back into a routine.............

This table in the kitchen against the wall of my main floor studio is where my embroidery machine usually sits.  I moved the machine so the table could be part of our buffet set up.  While the kitchen table is pushed over to the left I decided to look in the drawers.  I thought maybe you would like to look in them too.

Top drawer left:  mostly pieces prepared to make into bottle/can cozies with a few crazy pieced blocks thrown in on top.

Second drawer left: a lot of play time blocks...maybe for mug rugs.

Third drawer left:
More playtime or trial blocks.

Fourth drawer left: machine embroidery pieces.  I usually don't have a project in mind for the embroideries.

Fifth drawer left, a few started items made with hand dyed fabric.  In the front, trimmings leftover from stratas.  I forgot to take a picture of drawer #6 which has 2 started journal covers.

Top right drawer:
Miscellaneous blocks and cut away strips (created when I straighten my batik fabric for the first time to prepare for other cutting).

Middle right:  All cutaway strips of batiks.

Bottom right drawer:  All cutaway strips.  It wouldn't be so bad if this was the only place I had drawers full of things like this but I have more drawers full in the studio.

Right now I have four large tubs of scraps so I understand drawers of cut up scraps. I need to make decisions about them next year.

What drawers of fun. So much color in a small space. Thanks for the treat.

Glad to hear I am not the only one. Mine are not as organized. Mine are in zippered bags. Glad things are getting back to normal for you. Chris

I love that block in the top right drawer - the colors or maybe the design had me loving it immediately --

We seem to end up with LOTS of piles and drawers of pieces and blocks over time, don't we. I'm convinced that they will all get incorporated into projects down the road.

Isn't it nice to see how other quilters organise their fabrics/projects, I have lots of those sturdy pull out drawers, mine do need re-organising so I now have some ideas!

Humm, you could just take them out and see if you can use parts to make something new. Knowing you I am sure in a week or two there will be a other amazing project.

I enjoyed going through your drawers . . . that doesn't sound very nice . . . redo . . . I enjoyed looking through all your blocks and scraps. You have a lot of fun squares to put together and create some lovely projects. Some of the prettiest quilts are made from mixed matched colorful scrap blocks . . . I love quilts made from a multitude of fabrics and colors:)
Happy Quilting!
Connie :)
