Sewing long seams.......

I decided to sew the squares together in long columns top to bottom instead of sewing the squares into blocks and then assembling the quilt top.  I have 5 of 14 long seams sewn.  My neck was feeling better but I didn't want to push it and sew any more.  We got another little rain shower yesterday afternoon, about a third of an inch.  I haven't had to water anything outside for over a week now with little rains several times a week.  The areas of brown grass in the lawn are turning green again.

Looks like you enough room to sew those long seams. That is half the battle I think, not having fabric drag down when doing those rows.

That is good news about your neck. You were smart to stop. We haven't' had any rain since Sunday. It rained hard for 5 minutes and that was it.

Glad your neck is better...I must ask do you worry about the "scant" quarter inch..I struggle with this all the time.

You are a brave girl! Course, I know all of your patchwork pieces are perfect.
When I first began quilting, I thought it a good idea to sew a quilt top together with the pieces in long strips. Let's say it did not turn out well. So on to sewing into blocks.

good to read the neck is improving but take care not to overdo it. Strips coming along well. Here no rain for ages we were warned about heavy rain and thunder overnight but it passed us by though it is now cooler, have had a heatwave here in the UK very unusual, the hottest day in june since 1976
