Some of the strips in this Trip Around the World aren't full width. If I had enough fabric I cut one extra strip and then cut a piece from it to finish the length. In the case of the second pink fabric I only had enough to fill in on 2 stratas. I went to my 30s repros scrap bag and found a substitute that is about the same value. I will have a few strata loops left over so I'm not sure how many times it will appear in the quilt.
The cactus with the orange blossoms decided to have one more round.
Next week I'll have 2 more blossoms.
Thanks everyone yesterday for your kind comments about Otis and his quilt top. I hope he read them.

If there is a will there is a way. You figured out how to make the shortage work. I really like the calming colors od the 30's and 40's. I guess I am old enough to remember my Grandmother having used them. Chris
I have filled in the gap to finish a TAW and some of the bargello style quilts. Most people will never spot it. You have a good value match.
My peach cactus has one bloom on the whole plant. It is gorgeous, but a few more would be nice.
That little change in fabric probably won't be noticeable and if it is, what the heck, it just adds interest!
Good morning Wanda.....I tried to respond yesterday when you had Otis's quilt on display but had mouse problems. Not the rodent type, but the one on the computer, and since I refuse to use the touch pad, decided to let it go till today. What a fine looking gentleman Otis is and looks far younger than his years, and what a finely tuned eye he has for color. I loved this quilt and it's vibrant colors when you showed it on your design wall. It's so full of life and whomever he gifts it to should love and treasure it forever.
So happy you are doing this particular TAW -- you've mentioned wanting to a number of times. I had some 30 reproductions in my stash early on and loved them. May be time to do another quilt with them (gasp - a fabric acquisition road trip excuse)
Love the 1930's trip around the world. Have been wanting to do one of those for years. Thanks for sharing.
I have missed checking in the last couple days... And OMG ! Otis's quilt is awesome. He gets the blue ribbon for the week ! TWA looks so time consuming to me. I am sure he is ecstatic with the outcome. It really has the WOW factor for sure.
Your TWA in the works is is so spring time soothing. Will look forward to seeing the finish.

What is the width that you cut the strata? I'm having a little problem with the math if there are 24 strips per strata. Giving that the strips aren't all the same length, do you come out with about 40"? So if I take 40 and divide by 24 I come out to about 1.5" cuts. Or, are you adding the the length of each strip? I'm all confused! :( Do you have a tutorial?
