Helping another friend.........

One of my art quilter friends is making this Trip Around the World for his granddaughter.  I cut the kit for him last year.  Since we had to cancel 2 dates he hasn't been here to work on it for 2 months.  I talked to him this week and told him I would get the rest unpicked and sew a few rows together for him if that was OK with him.  He had his 86th birthday a couple weeks ago and has several more quilts planned.  Now he can finish sewing this on Monday and get it to his quilter soon.

I also worked on the basting of Rosemary's quilt.  I think I only have 5 lines left to baste.  It is supposed to rain off and on today so I won't be tempted to work in the garden and yard.

Amazing TAW! His granddaughter will love it. He is a testimony to never give up at 86. You are a wonderful friend to help get it completed.

Did you use a particular design collection for the fabric?

I love the colors on this. I hope I am still creating at 86

What a good friend you are Wanda, and I'm sure he must be very appreciative of all the help you gave him. I love the colors and fabrics used to create this quilt. It is very bold and grabs my attention. She will be one very happy granddaughter when she receives it.

Loving the colours on this TAW - I hope you post a photo when it's finished.
Our weather has been lovely the past few days - lots of sunshine but cooler during the night. I need to get outside to the garden, but having 3 days to myself I've used it to sew, without any interruptions :)

The colors in this one make me weak in the knees! It is so gorgeous! If I live to 86, I hope I will be able to keep quilting and making quilts to give away. It is wonderful that you can keep him moving forward. The fabric in this is so compelling.

Yours is the second blog I've read today about someone in their 80s still quilting along, and beautifully! That will be a treasured quilt I'm sure.

Raining here, too -- GOOD day to sew and tidy and sort and sew some more.

Good karma all around. Your helping a friend, friend accepts, and granddaughter gets a beautiful quilt and bragging rights. "My grandfather made this quil for me". That makes my day.

I am impressed! Same age as my DAD- I wish my dad would take up some type of hobby!
May God bless this gentleman, and give him many more years, of health and happiness!
