2 flannel quilts finished............

I cut the binding and sewed it on all by machine for #2 flannel Stack and Slash.

This has been a hard quilt to photograph and get the colors right.  The photo above is the truest color photo so far.  This quilt ended up 55" x 70".  This quilt is a mix of prints, plaids and stripes.

#1 flannel Stack and Slash ended up 52.5" x 67".  I cut the strips 1/4" narrower on this quilt and the loop quilting pulled it in more too.  This quilt is all plaid and stripe flannels.

Here they are hanging on the rail of my longarm with the light coming in from the side.  The colors are pretty true in this photo.

We had temperatures in the low 60s yesterday and the weathermen are predicting 2-5" of snow tomorrow.  This has been a strange winter.

I love the flannel quilts, so snuggly. and the batik orphan quilt too. when I first saw that hodge-podge of blocks, I thought you couldn't possibly make sense of them together. but the finished product is very different, and very effective and engaging, I think. I suppose there's a "theory of composition" that makes us say "huh?" at one combination and "yes!" at another. I don't understand it, but somehow you made it work!

The quilts look so different from each other because of the values. I bet they are real cuddly. It is neat to see them side by side.

I love your quilts, especially the darker fabrics. My bulbs are all peeking out of the ground ready for spring, as we all are.

Thanks for the photo that shows the quilting designs so clearly. (Nice, cozy-looking quilts, too.)

The flannel quilts look so different after they have been quilted. So cozy!! We had 78 degrees on Saturday--here in Omaha. We have had lots of wind & are back down in temps now. Crazy weather!!

Oh, Wanda, they are both so nice! I like how you've made them unique even though they are the same pattern and type of fabric.

It HAS been a strange winter. We have not had a freeze at all. Strange.
