Basting day.........
I finally got the backing pressed, the fold marks out of the Thermore batting and the layering done. I am at the halfway point of basting now. I know it is better to break it into 2 days instead of stretching across the table too many times in one day. If you have questions about my hand basting, visit this post.

Good choice. Too much stretching can strain the back when we are "of an age"
You do have this method down to a science!
I'm sure you're right about stretching it over two days. And I know it's a great help to be able to do it on your table. I've always had to baste quilts on the floor, which gets harder and harder. Now, of course, I send them out, and somebody else does it. I'm not sure how, because she's not getting any younger either!
Did you ever baste a quilt on your long arm? I do that instead of using a table or the floor. It is very easy and quick.
