Playing again......
I was pretty tired last night after 3 days of walking many hours on the concrete floor in the basement. I decided to just have some playtime with my favorite guy (Kaffe). The diamonds are leftovers from when I made my bordered diamond quilt. I wanted to see the variety so I would know what colors to cut to make a small couch quilt. The octagons on the right will probably be 2 different quilts and again I wanted to see the variety that was already cut. I am cutting a third Kaffe quilt which will take several weeks because I like at least 50 different fabrics in a quilt. While I am cutting that one I will also cut pieces for these quilts.

a couple of weeks of petting fabrics.... what could be better?
Ah, another look at your bordered diamond quilt--such a great one. You've given me a much greater appreciation of Kaffe's fabric design. Looks like fun ahead!
I have a big basket of KF fabrics and I really MUST make some into a quilt. Your post has given me the push I need but the sun is shining and I spotted a sale, with KF and Tim H at amazing prices, so first a trip is called for followed by a nice lunch at a countryside pub. See what you do to me!!!

The quilts you and Kaffe make are always exuberant!
A great start! all are so colorful - love the reds
Good morning Wanda, I just love looking at Kaffe's fabrics, but don't have many, so I get my joy from looking at yours. Be careful Wanda, heavy petting at our age could be dangerous. LOL
Wonderful variety!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you make with the octagons. It's always a nice surprise when I see the end result.
The sun is out today, Spring is just around the corner, and my cactus is starting to flower, with lots of buds forming.
It is amazing how hard that concrete is on the body!!!
I am looking forward to the creation of the next quilt.
I love seeing how other people play.
Those pieces just instantly made me smile - such fabulous colours! I know they're going to turn into something amazing so it's going to be fun watching.
Wow! 50 fabrics in one quilt and you don't even have to make a "run" to a fabric shop!!!! Your stash must be a " something to behold". Happy Quilting! I look forward to seeing your finished work of art!
I love your one about playtime with Kaffe!!! But it truly is playtime with his fabrics - I love them.
What size are your hexagons Wanda? I am using an Accuquilt die for mine but they are petty large, side measurement of 4".
I will be looking forward to seeing these quilts presently on your design wall.
I see many beautiful quilts happening here. Have fun playing in all that wonderful color and fabric.
So you're making three different Kaffe quilts at the same time. I have never tried to cut or pick fabrics fro more than one quilt at a time, I think. I'm wondering how hard it will be if you are trying to make them significantly different from each other; or if, since you'll be picking and cutting the fabrics simultaneously, they will end up being relatively similar? I'm just curious, I have no idea. Have you tried doing this before?
Those Kaffe diamonds are DELICIOUS!
