Auditioning a border......
This is the next quilt that needs its border, waiting since April 2011. In the Kaffe book "Simple Shapes, Spectacular Quilts" Kaffe used one fabric for the border, a red chevron stripe. I made my quilt one row longer which ended up being tall and not very wide. I need a wide border on the 2 sides and just a 2" strip of one fabric across the top and bottom of mine. I'm auditioning chunks of dark Kaffe prints with some of the left over strips between them, sometimes two together, sometimes just one. I think I like this so now I have to decide if I want to match the color of the partial diamond on the side or contrast with it.

I have faith in whatever you choose for the border :) I just have to say that quilt is spectacular! You are just so talented... I have some Kaffe fabric but I'm waiting a while to do something with it. I need to gain more skill before I start getting sharp objects around it! But seeing yours certainly inspires me to keep working at it! I love this quilt! Magistra13 at yahoo dot com

Hi, Wanda, I loved to see what you have created ... I have done it two years ago and this is my (border-)result:

Wish you a nice buzy-sewing weekend! ;)))

Love the colours in this one
This is another beautiful quilt. I am sure whatever you choose will be great.
Quite nice. Looks like a fun one to make.
Love the border idea because it does not bring a quick stop to the eye movement. It does need a border because the diagonals of a diamond are full of energy direction and need some calming, but don't need to meet a solid wall. Just outstanding clear colors.
I've always liked this quilt and seeing yours again makes me realize just how much. You did a lovely job of it.
Beautiful....I like your plan for the border. It will be a great finish for the diamonds.
I really like this one -something about the light/dark really draws your eye
Wanda, another eye popping design made with the Fassett fabrics. Whichever fabric you choose, will be beautiful. I'm partial to the one right at the point of the first diamond at the top of the quilt, but it's so difficult to choose just one. Have a good day.
I like the dark border, it really makes the light diamonds shine. Maybe you could do 2 sides ( top and side) with the dark and 2 sides (bottom and side) with the dark? It might draw out the dark diamonds more.
I really like that border on the left. It seems to tie the quilt together and makes the diamonds pop even more. It's the scrappy affect that does it.
OMG Wanda ~ your diamond quilts are as your book says... SPECTACULAR ! Just love them.

Really like this border, fits in so well with the strip diamonds.
Love this quilt...gorgeous! X
