I was looking for pink binding but soon realized that the backing was more lavender. I found a medium value lavender that I think works well. I got almost 3 sides hand stitched. Just 12" on a short side and one long side to go.
Here are the pathetic signs of spring in this area. The weatherman just gave the 14 day forecast and it is "well below normal" temperatures for another 2 weeks. Tomorrow will be the exception when we get one warm day.
It was 55 degrees with the wind blowing when I went out to take these photos and that did not feel warm. I want real spring!

I went out and raked some on the front yard. I started coughing so came in. I am so ready to get warmer weather. Glad you are getting another one completed. Chris
First I want to say that the binding is perfect!! I love batiks!
Secondly, we have about 5 feet of snow and Spring does not seem to be coming too soon :-( Can't wait for it!!
At least it's green, but your right I can't wait
either. The forecast is the same in my area too. At least your quilt is springy looking.
The binding looks great! I see even less signs of spring here. It has to be coming one of these days!
Rain, snow and sleet over the weekend here.... spring- REALLY????
soon, please! and yes I am begging!
At least your quilt resembles spring.
Crappy weather here too. I am so sick of this. I would be happy if it would just be 50 degrees!. Today they predict 58 so I have my fingers crossed that it will be warm enough to spend some time outside.
Spring is slow to arrive this year. Sad. Hope it doesn't just go from cold to hot. I like the cooler temps of spring.
I read where your April is suppose to be cooler than normal this year. At least it beats the snow!
Even with yesterday's temps, we still have a couple piles of snow on the North side of our deck. I keep thinking I should do some snow fabric dyeing...but I'm so sick of the snow...will wait until next year!
GAAAACK!!! Forgot to say, I love the binding you chose, Wanda!
Beautiful quilt truly reminds me of spring and sherbet ice cream cones. Lavender binding was perfect. Another colorful, wonderful piece of art : )
I was taught to start sewing my binding middle of a long side, that way your finish will feel quicker!
The wind has been awful here too, but spring will come...eventually!
No snow here, just earthquakes! - just 20 miles away it was knocking items off shelves! Since I'm a recent follower of your blog, I've gone back to read your posts from the beginning in 2007 - very interesting to follow your progress and get a sense of your history - and of course see all your Wanda-ful quilts!
Well your quilt looks like 'Real Spring'... (*._,*) your lavender binding is perfect. Sounds like your hand stitching speed is fast. Do you do a back stitch on them ?
I hope all of us get 'real spring' soon. Check out Farmers Almanac for your area. They usually predict fairly close. I don't think you will get a warm spring, or was that my area ?

I like the lavender binding. It looks great. We are having spring here in Texas. Sorry about your weather.
I love your quilts so much! X
We think we are having false spring, too. We always have a major cold snap at Easter, even if it is as late as this year!
Well, at least it's a start! And I think you picked the perfect binding. It just fits.
