Auditioning a border............

I decided to play with the border idea for the Mega Churn Dash to see if it is going to work.  I scaled my churn dash down to 67.5" square so I could make this into a rectangular quilt unlike the one in the book.  I'm planning on a bottom border like the top one which will  make the quilt 78" x 103".
I finished the bottom 2 dishcloths just in time for St. Patrick's day.  The top right one used up the ends of 6 balls of yarn; not pretty but utilitarian.

I like the border and the rectangle!!! Squares are nice and symmetrical, but totally useless for covering the human form!!!

Just love your Chevron border... Looks great and I also think rectangle quilts are better than a square one....

The borders on the quilt area going to look great!

I love the all green dishcloth...is that a free pattern?

My goodness you have a lot of green going on. St. Patrick's Day is my husband Patrick's favorite holiday. He used to go to the parades in St. Louis every year. It has a large Irish population.

You have a winner with that border.
And I agree that the green dishcloth is lovely.

I like the way this border design works with the rest of the quilt.

I love zigzags - can't get over how big that center block is :) usually they are so small and you have to make a lot of them!

NICE quilt!
Love the dishcloths. I think the one using up the ends of 6 balls of yarn is very interesting, modern looking. I like it! Gotta love those greens : )

I really like the border to this quilt! I love the simplicity of it plus I love the way it works for just two designs of fabric. I'm thinking that book has great possibilities and I need to pick it up.
Love the washcloths as I make them also - One can never have too many!

I like that zig zag border on the Churn Dash.

Mega Churn Dash really shows off your zebra fabric. As usual you bring out the best in every pattern you select.

Great St. Patrick's day dish cloths... even the utilitarian one.

I think all of the dishcloths are pretty. The Churn Dash giant block reminds me of Alice in Wonderland - the old Disney one with the repeating archways going off into infinity, and I really like your bordering idea.

Could you direct me to that diagonal dishcloth pattern, Wanda. Hubby is finally doing dishes, but complains that my cloths are not big enough. I need to make new ones.......gladly !

I like that finished quilt, that is in you next post, too ! I'm catching up on yesterday's post and saw these dishcloths. I think the leftovers one is the best of all, but, then, I like things assymetrical !

I have made very few square quilts, somehow feel that a quilt to be used should be rectangular! But when it's really large, it often doesn't matter. Yours will be awesome and I look forward to seeing the final version - as always.
I think all the dish cloths are beautiful, I like a little surprise and asymmetry!

Oh I like the nested churn dash border! I just made one that finished at 63 sq before birders. I don't like sq quilts so I debated on how to elongate ut. I decided in a strip if small churn dash blocks across the top....but I like the chevron stripe better! Very nice addition!
