Checkerboard Love.............
I have one December finish. It is one that I have wanted to finish for a long time. I pieced it in October 2011, chose the backing fabric in 2012, and finally finished it at the end of 2013. It is approximately 63" x 83".

It looks great... it will brighten any room or life! I have quite a few that have taken 2, 4 or more years to complete.
How pretty! Of course, my favorite color is pink. Love the random placement of the different blocks.

some quilts take us a long time to finish for some reason - this one even though it took awhile is awesome!

Every morning I look forward to reading your blog and looking at the great photos, whether they be of quilts, nature, or cookies. I learn so much about design and technique.
This one will now be filed in my brain for the times when I need to make a quilt longer but not wider, or wider but not longer. An "inner" border is a great idea. I'm just finishing the binding on a quilt that has blocks that are 14 inches square. It was hard to get it to the "ideal" size for the recipient. Now I know a great way to accomplish that for the next quilt.
