Making a gift.......

One of the art quilters was interested in how I made Journal Quilt #12 so I assembled this while they were here.  The tiny pieces are on top of fusible batting so it is partially held in place by ironing.  Now I need to layer and quilt it.

Great technique and use of leftover scraps!

For some reason or other my computer is not letting me know that you are posting. I have been waiting for a new post for a week and today it finally showed and it was a weeks worth of blogs. Your plants look lovely for the drought that we are having. I wish we would get some rain as I am tired of watering the plants. The heat is creeping back in after a beautiful Monday. Enjoy your day and keep quilting.

Wow, that is really neat. Are the bottom pieces held in place with the fusible batting as well? Or are they sewn down? Very pretty!

Oh, Wanda, you make it look so easy. Another beauty-in-the-making!

Beautiful colors! I have done something similar and after I have laid out my pieces I took a couple of already fused scraps and added them on top, helps to hold it down a little more.

Thats beautiful Wanda - Not sure what you mean by layer it. The colours are so vibrant.

lOve this piece. I have been trying to catch up on blog reading today...you have been as busy as ever since you got back. Love the new pieces.

This piece is beautiful. It looks like tiny pieces. I'm not sure how it's connected to the batting other than the fusible part of the batting. Are you planning to stitch it down? Regardless, it's beautiful. I can see it as a beautiful wall hanging.

oops. I just read one of your other post entries. Seems the pieces are partly free floating until you quilt the sandwiched piece.
