Clean up fun

As I was bagging all of the little scraps to put them away I couldn't help myself and had to make a few wonky log cabin blocks.  They are 7" square.  Some of the strips finish at a quarter inch wide.
The centers are all different sizes too, whatever size they were in the scrap pile.  I really did put the scraps away now, for awhile anyway.

I had a lot of my Kaffe fabrics cut in 9" strips so I cut a bunch of 9" squares last night.  This is one possibility for using them.  It is in a Karla Alexander book and you stack, cut and shuffle the fabrics.  I think there is another one in the book that takes 9" squares too so I'll just keep cutting for now.
It was a little cooler today but still beautiful weather.  It could stay like this for a couple months as far as I'm concerned.

How about a Sudoku pattern for your 9" Kaffe fabrics? 9" by 10 would make a bed sized quilt! I love sudoku puzzles... gotta keep the mind fit.

Wow, hauling a house down the road is exciting enough, but a church? That is quite a moving experience! (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun). Really, this is fascinating, and thanks for sharing the photos!

We are having low 40's at night and low 60's in the day, with clear blue skies here in the Pacific Northwest. Yep, it could stay like this for a while, and I wouldn't complain! I did relent and fired up the wood stove yesterday. 60 in the house felt great during a hot flash, but after? Brrrrr.....

Finally back to reading my blogs after our BIG quilt hanging last week.
Love your wonky scrap log cabins. They will make a fabulous quilt.
Yep I just made a Sudoku quilt and it was fun but not challenging enough for you Wanda.

Love the random strips in the log cabin blocks. Makes a much more interesting block, don't you think?

I love Karla Alexander's books. I'll bet Kaffe fabrics would look really nice in one of those quilts.

I like those scrappy log cabin blocks too. I must make a few... Oh, did you get your computer problem fixed? Maybe you need a new driver for your camera software?

Which Karla Alexander book? I have a big stack of 9" Kaffe squares (hmmm, bet you know why) and I'm thinking I need to follow along as you work on this one ...

Autumn is definitely my favorite time of year.
I look forward to seeing what you do with the Kaffe Fassett 9 inch pieces.

I love that you use such tiny scraps for your 7" squares. They all look so festive.

9" Kaffe strips and squares will no doubt work into another of your exuberant designs.

Don't you wish we all had weather thermostats we could just set for our favorite weather pattern no matter where we lived. ☺ But the four seasons make our lives more interesting. And as always gives us something to talk about.

Your wonky log cabin blocks are so much fun. All those 9" blocks of Kaffe fabrics must feel like a colour explosion is about to happen -- what a delight it must be to see them all around you!

Those Kaffee prints are harder to work with than they seem - and you make it look so easy!!
