Blooming on time

The last 2 years when I showed my Christmas cactus blooming it was in March or April. This year however my plant has gotten with the program and has about 20 buds and will be blooming shortly after Thanksgiving. This poor plant has had a hard time getting going having an attack by a cat or a squirrel one year and a hail storm another year when it was outside for the summer. I didn't sew one stitch yesterday. I did a lot of cutting on my purple batiks, strips and squares and that took several hours.
*************
On my H quilt, I have one more star block to make. I thought of a title for it too.
"H- I give it 5 stars". If you go back to the picture yesterday there are 4 stars in it so far so when I finish the last one it will have 5. I always wanted a quilt with a 5 star rating.

Fitting title! My Mother's Christmas Cactus blooms between Thanksgiving and Christmas too. I don't have one, but I love them blooming as well as between bloomings.

Love the title....I like your use of a few different blocks for interest.

Love the title! Your quilts all have a 5-star rating, imo.
I was fascinated by your Christmas cactus last year. I cna't wait to see this year's blooms.

You are so funny!! That should definitely be the name of your quilt, something like "H with a five star rating" or Five Star H".

I have a number of Christmas cacti. I started collecting various colors, and they are all in one stage or another of blooming. A pink and white one sits in full bloom before me now. You've got to love it when indoor plants start blooming when everything outdoors have changed from brown and gray.

Especially if you like "exuberant colors!"

Love that you've given this one a name!!!

Your quilts are all five-star rated in my book!

Cute name for the quilt!!! My Christmas cactus hasn't started yet, but I, too, usually see the blossoms after Christmas. Mine stays outside all year so it marches to it's own drum.

You have given me an idea for my grandaughters quilt, her initial is P. How hard can that be ?

My Christmas cactus has been blooming for a week now and is still loaded with blossoms and buds. I didn't put it outside this summer, I wasn't sure if it would survive all the rain. You never know about these plants.

Perfect name for your quilt but I am sure all your quilts get at least a five star rating.

And the quilt is for one of your 5 star kids!

Someone told me that if you get a Christmas cactus in the right spot, don't move it. Don't even turn the pot. Mine is the same color as yours and is blooming now and blooms about 3-4 times a year. I've had it 11 years.

My vote is the same; your quilts are always five stars, at least five!

Hi Wanda,
Your Christmas cactus looks really healthy and happy. For some reason mine is getting buds earlier this year, too.

So now that you're 5 star, does that mean you're going to start a little bed and breakfast with quilt lessons on the side?

Clever! Your Christmas cactus looks so healthy. I'm hoping mine will do as well as yours this year. I took two smaller ones, neither of which was doing well, and combined them. It's looking a lot better now. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Wanda.

Love the name you have given your 'H' quilt! But, frankly, I would give all of your quilts five stars! You Christmas cactus looks great! A couple of mine have already produced blooms. They seem to come earlier each year.

Agree with all of the above ... all your quilts get a 5 star rating! Happy Thanksgiving!

*****5 Stars
Perfect, love the title and the use of the stars amongst the H's, looks to me that all your quilts are at least a 5 star rating. How much fun. Happy Thanksgiving Wanda. Blessings to you.

Love your Christmas cactus. I have one that has not produced anything but one bud so far and I have had it for three or four years. It has had three or four little bud beginnings, but then they fall off and maybe only one will flower. Crazy cactus!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

My Christmas Cactus has never flowered at Christmas. It's really a Thanksgiving Cactus, or sometimes a Halloween Cactus... And here I thought I just got an odd one?!?

Enjoy your Thanksgiving:-)

Last year mine flowered at the same time as yours, it isn't showing any signs of flowering again.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving,

They are pretty whenever they bloom! My dad's Christmas cacti bloom well into summer. He inherited his mother's green thumb.
