24 blocks done

I finished sewing the blocks last night. I am stopping at 24 blocks because with a small border it will be perfect for the twin bed in my guest bedroom. I still need to rearrange the blocks because it is heavy with blue in some areas and heavy with red in others. My main objective is to not have 2 of the same flower next to each other. The cutting took 2 days and the sewing 4 days, but not all day every day. I rarely get in more than 4 hours quilting time in a day and sometimes only 2 hours.

The private lesson went well yesterday. The lady who owns the store and I are trading off teaching him, whichever one is free on a day he can come. He switched to a rotary cutter from scissors and he was pleased with the speedier cutting time.

I've been watching this quilt progress and I love how vibrant it is. This setting just makes it seem to radiate.

I believe it would look better in my den than on your bed. Really.

Wow! Such a different impression when you look at it on the large scale compared to the small. All the Kaffe's give it such a modern look.

This is the nicest log cabin I've seen in a long while. Hurray!!

Your log cabin quilt has the exact same effect as 2 quilts I once made back in my college days. I have a paper strip quilt that it framed and a large queen sized log cabin made in 1970's & 80's calicos. The look is freekishly similar to all your Kaffe Fasset fabrics!

I know I have said this before and I will no doubt continue to use "BREATH TAKING" in describing your work. I TOTALLY agree with Gene Black's comment today.

I love your 'happy quilt'! I don't know how you get so much done is such a short time! And it is all so lovely!

I have had a stack of similar fat quarters and just haven't known what to do with them...they are so different for me. I have really enjoyed your journey on this quilt and it makes me more hopeful I can make something pretty with all of them...some Kaffee fabrics strike me as so ugly individually...it really makes me think a little differently about "ugly" fabrics.

Hi Wanda,
Your quilt is so fresh and summery (or gardeny, if there is such a word).
It's amazing you chose different fabrics than those in the book, yet you have the "look".
Love those big flowers as the center of the block.

I just love that "3D" look you have in so many of your quilts. And I hope it is "play time"...that's what I call your pictures of different arrangements! I just love them! It's so fascinating to see what blocks put in different positions can look like!!!
