An interesting day.......

I had promised a friend to let her use my embroidery machine at my house and since I had to stay home waiting for the plumbing and heating guys, it was a perfect day for it yesterday.  She got here about 15 minutes ahead of the guys.  Her embroidery machine is about 18 years old and it isn't easy to do lettering with it.  The guys bled the air out of the line and then discovered that the bleeder was leaking.  That meant draining the boiler and the whole line, replacing the bleeder, filling the boiler and the line with water and then opening every bleeder in the whole house.  This meant moving furniture.....in every room......again.....third time in 14 months.  They were finally done at 1 p.m.
Meanwhile mid morning my friend had to leave and pick up grandchildren and babysit for 4 hours so she came back in the middle of the afternoon to finish the names on the sweatshirt.  By evening I wasn't ready to dive into a big project so I finished 3 bottle/can cozies that I found partially made in a pile I was cleaning up in the basement earlier while the guys were here.  (Click on tutorials on right side bar and cozy tutorial is the second one). Today I have to get serious about some edge finishes on the 2 wonky quilts.

The bottle cozies look neat. My days seem to run like yours do of late. I think painting today. Who knows. Chris

Look at the bright side... you have got the cleanest rooms around! No dust bunnies hiding under the furniture. Love the cozies!

Yuke to moving furniture AGAIN !
Our temp has jumped to the very hi thirties!!!!!!!!

At least your drudgery was accompanied with a friend's visit. AND you were able to end the day with a couple of FOs.

I found the Strips that Sizzle book!!!! I'm so excited! Also I went back and read every single post on your blog about Strips that Sizzle and i"m blown away by how you've taken such a simple block and morphed it into such amazing designs :-)
One question....do u pay attention to the prints at all or just value?? I mean, just lights and darks?
Thank you Wanda. :-) Amie

I have a difficult time concentrating on days when workmen come to my house, My creativity just seems to freeze. Probably because I am nervous about what unpleasant surprises they might find in the plumbing, electrical system, etc. Not my favorite sort of day.

We have the same heating system you have, and I know exactly what you had to cope with. All should be working well for you and should be keeping you nice and warm. Especially with your new boiler.

Your friend did a great job with her shirt. And thanks for showing the bottle cozy again. They make fun little gifts to give. And I needed an idea today.
