Garden tour, computer update

This is probably my favorite hosta for leaf color.  Its flower is nothing special but the leaves are neat from the time it pops out of the ground.

I never remember what this one is going to look like.  It is a hosta although it looks a little like a Romaine lettuce heart right now.

The red penstemon contrasts nicely with the green lily leaves.  The penstemon will reseed in a couple new places each year.

This is the cranesbill in my front flower bed.  The flowers are a pale purple.  The plant is bigger this year so I guess it liked all of the snow cover we had last winter.

I added a few more pieces while I was waiting for my printer software to load in my old (slow) laptop.  I feel a little geeky....I installed the wireless printer that is on my network.......and it worked, I printed a picture from the computer in the basement on the main level printer when I was done.

My desktop computer stopped working 2 days ago.  It turned itself off while I was outside digging plants.  I am hoping it is just the power supply unit that is bad.  I picked one up and my son will install it when he has time.  I am sure glad I bought the new laptop last week and transferred most of my files.  If the desktop is dead, I'm still OK.  My son knows how to get any remaining files off the hard drive.

Hostas are neat when they come up. The computer thing I had happen a year ago. Mine would try to come on and then just would cut out. They wear out like we do I guess. Hopefully it is the power source. Chris

the computer thing happened to me too. Since it happened I take backupfiles every evening.

The colours in your garden look great.

I also know all about computer breakdowns. I am sure we all been have there. You are so lucky your son can help.

The blocks on your design wall are beautiful. Look forward to watching it to it's finish.

I guess I need to do computer backups today (it has been a year since I did them last). Love the contrast of greens in your photos.

the hostas are wonderful - that first one reminds me of "Golden Bowl". Sometimes I remember to write down who's on first .... what's on second .. but I always lose the notes! I am loving the new piece as it takes shape - brilliant, as always!

Is't it nice to have a kid who knows about tech stuff? I have a son like that too. *S*

I got myself a xternal hard drive that I use for backup. Of course, what if both of them go. *L*......you could go on forever backing up.

Love your Hosta posts, I have a fascination with them.

I depend upon our son too, though he's not accessible all the time. Computers -- it's such a love-hate relationship some weeks.

Watching hostas come up in the spring is such fun. They're so reliable (unlike some computers)

Computers. I couldn't live without mine, but my trouble shooting skills are pretty basic. I'm lucky also, to have my husband and my son who keep mine going.
It's amazing to see everyone's gardens! we are about 3 weeks ahead of usual here in northern NB and I can just seethe tips of my hostas peeking out from the ground. I like the combo colors of the penstemon and other greeenery as well. I must look for that.

Wanda-- My low-tech solution to making sure I don't lose any computer files that I really want: I copy them to a thumb drive. Photos I write to a CD and stick those in a shoe box.

I had the same feeling when I set up our wireless printer. Now I print from any room and even the studio which is 40' away. Love wireless.

Love all your quilts - looks like your garden is beautiful and keeps you busy. I have a separate printer in my studio...but I can use my laptop and print from any room - it can be really handy...not that I understand how it works :)

The hosta on the roof garden are just starting to show up. I think it will be another week or so before there's anything worth photographing.
Your next triangle quilt is going to be fabulous.
