finished cleaning and baking cookies

This isn't the greatest photo but it was taken with my zoom lens from my kitchen window.  It is the first
'Jack' of the year.  You can see another new plant starting just to the left of it.

Today my art quilters' group is coming so I finished cleaning and baked 2 batches of cookies yesterday.
I tried to print from my new laptop and there was no printer listed in my computer.  I had specifically asked the 'geek' whether my network wireless printer would still work from my new laptop even if the desktop computer died.  He said yes but the answer was really no.  I had to uninstall the link he had put in and reinstall the printer software and have it connect to my network.  It was successful but the batch of cookies I was mixing at the same time wasn't.  I had the butter in the mixer bowl softening, but forgot to add the half a stick of Crisco.  I kept thinking the batter looked funny but didn't figure it out until after I had added the chocolate chips.  I started baking them anyway (low fat cookies!) but after 3 trays I tried one and decided the rest of the batter wasn't worth saving. They were about equal to grocery store packaged cookies. My friends know I can bake better cookies than that so I started over again.  So much for mulit-tasking.

Sorry about the cookies, but I have seen proof that you are a very capable multi tasker. cookng just isn't generally somehing you can multitask with.

I made 3 batches of toatedgarlic before I made one without burning because my timer was broken and people kept coming in and asking questions.

LOL I make the same kind of mistakes while multi-tasking - nice to hear that others do too LOL

I was making oatmeal cookies and could not figure out why they were spreading so much. Then it finally dawned on me I forgot the flour. Of course, I was multi tasking at the time! With the remaining dough I just threw in some flour and the resulting cookies were fine. The cookies without the flour were still tasty kind of like a granola.

Yep, once you've had a superb homemade chocolate chip cookie, a sub-prime one is just not acceptable. LOL!

Once I forgot the brown sugar in ginger snap cookies. The color looked fine because of the molasses. Unfortunately before I realized anything was amiss, the rest had been sold on a bake sale.

Congratualtions on winning Vicki's retirement giveaway. I can't wait to see what you come up with her hand dyed fabric.

You are amazing. I only hope to be going as strong as you when I *hopefully* retire! My garden just got build this weekend, so nothing but dirt in the boxes.

For me, some things never mix, oil and water, or computers and almost anything else! If I can brush my teeth while the thing boots up, I am happy!

You can mix colors with perfection, so striking out on a batch of cookies isn't a big deal!

At least you baked cookies. My grandson bakes them when he comes over. He knows that they will taste better that way. I guess I'm just not into cooking. Hmmmm -wonder what I am into?

Too funny! I think we've all done similar things. Happens whenever I'm patting myself on the back for being so efficient, then suddenly - WHOOPS! - something goes wrong. Keeps us humble, right?

My new printer is nice, but the program instructions are not as good as some I had before. Luckily I seem to be able to fuss about & get what I want..eventually.
My baking days are severely limited these days.
