I worked on the hand stitching on the binding of this medallion quilt a few times yesterday. I have about 40" left to stitch.
I have only one cactus currently in bloom. This orange one is so pretty. I don't see buds on any of the others in the living room and dining room. I have one on the kitchen windowsill that is 4 pieces that broke off of one plant and I rooted them and planted them all in one pot. There is one bud on one of them so I hope it gets to the blooming stage.
It was -4 yesterday morning and got up to 8 degrees during the day. Relief is on the way. 6 of the next 9 days are supposed to be above freezing.

That is so cold brrrr--Our windchill today has been hovering around 4 degrees--pretty cold for us...an inside day for us for sure!!
I will be resting as my left hand is strained somehow--perhaps opening a jar??? Anyhoo--it doesn't take much these days!
I love your orange cactus--stunning colors in those blooms...
None of mine are blooming--we re-arranged our room and they got moved --guess they didn't like that!!:((((
Hope your week goes well and you get your binding finished on that lovely quilt...hugs, Julierose
I thought about you yesterday when I was watching the Browns at Chicago playing the Bears. It was COLD! To sit out in those temps for hours watching that game - no thank you! Your cactus is so pretty. I have got to get that piece I acquired in some dirt!
At those cold temperatures, it must be a delight to hand stitch binding while enjoying the warmth of the quilt in your lap!
It was 13*F here last night and windy, so it felt like Arctic cold.
Hugs!
My cactus is blooming, too. At least the side closest to the window...
my white one still has a few buds on it but they look like they will drop off as they have not been developing one of the pink blossom plants still has a couple blooming but about done now
As usual your hand stitched binding is swiftly being completed in record time.
Can you believe we have been in that “Atmospheric River System” from the Pacific for 3 weeks now. Day times highs in the 50’s ! Rain and more rain which has melted the snow in the mountains. My skiers are not happy.
My cacti are busy shedding the aging blooms and growing new buds. The cold hasn't made them happy (sunroom is cooler when it is THAT cold outdoors since two of the walls are large glass windows).
