I finished the basting yesterday morning and last night started the quilting on this small quilt I call Game Board. This post shows the whole top. I got the ditch quilting done in the 3 outer borders and then quilted the flying geese border. I'll probably do the bow ties next and then proceed to the center.
I have tweezers handy when I am quilting. No matter how many threads I pull out of the seams before I start, I always find more while quilting. Sometimes as in this case, only about 1/4" of thread is showing and it's easiest to grab it with the tweezers.
This is how long the thread was. I should have put all of them in a pile to show at the end but I didn't think of that until I had already thrown away more than a dozen of them.

You are moving right along so well with that quilting Wanda;)) this will be a stunning quilt!! Good luck finishing her up...;)))
34 here this morning early; our sunrise here is @ 7 a.m. but it takes another 15-20 minutes for the sun to get up over the hill to our east (on my left where I sit). Tonight the really cold front is slated to come over us with "feels like" temps dipping into the single digits...Winter is truly here now. I just wish I could see some snow here--I find sitting quietly and watching it flutter down so relaxing. Day off from any sewing for me; still resting...
Hugs, Julierose
BRRRR! Today will be a good day to stay inside and sew! I really like Game Board -- so colorful and scrappy.
I like quilting as it allows me to “visit” the individual fabrics again. It is in the 20’s again and grey skies. Only a couple weeks until the days start getting longer!
Game board it such a riot of color! Those pesky threads! No matter how clean I keep everything and pick those threads when I press, there are always a few more that show up. Since everyone is reporting the weather, here in NE Ohio it is 26 but feels like 14 with a 10 mph wind and 21 mph gusts. We have a chance of snow flurries starting in the next 10 minutes and partial sun around 11 am. It is now 8:51 am.
Just love seeing how unbelievably meticulous you are ! Must be most quilters use tweezers to catch their threads too as there were no comments about it, so far. Good post Wanda.
What a delight Game Board is and will be. Someone you invite to choose a quilt or quilts will snap this one up in a hurry - unless you choose to keep it.
Ah, those pesky threads! What I want to know is how folded untouched quilt tops or blocks can develop all those loose threads around the perimeters?? Is it the rotation of the earth or what?
We may get a bit of snow tonight and tomorrow but time will tell how much.
So far, the weather reports say it it will be 2" or less.
Hugs!
I always find little threads like that when I am quilting too I will have thought I got them all out and turns out I haven't
Yes the tweezers & the seam ripper get a workout in the sewing room😄this is a cheerie fun quilt,I luv it!
I spend a lot of time on the longarm pulling loose threads!
