Trimmed and ready to quilt............

I had chosen backing fabric for these mug rugs over a week ago but hadn't trimmed them yet.  Yesterday was trimming and layering day.

This set of four got trimmed and layered too.  Now I need to decide on thread color(s).  It would be nice to chose one color to quilt all seven of them.

i haven't done as much knitting in the last week but last night I finished the second one in the set of three that I had started.  This is the first time I've used this lavender and white yarn.

My neighbor helped dig some Sedum plants that were near our lot line a couple weeks ago.  She is going to put in a fence for her dogs and we were afraid the plants would get trampled.  They had already been chopped into by the crew that cleared her lot line.  I planted them yesterday in several pots.  They are a hard plant to kill so we'll see if they survive being planted so late (and close to winter).  I have had them in pots over the winter before and they always did ok.

Cute mug rugs, would a multicolor thread work?

It would be nice to use one color of thread :) For piecing I have two machines set up, one with a neutral khaki color and the other with either black or white as needed, lol. It’s such a small thing, but I don’t like changing out thread colors, lol.

Scrappy fun! I like purple or lime green for multi-fabric quilts.

Lime green is usually a nice neutral for me, but most any green makes a good neutral for multi-color pieces. And those sedum plants would probably survive an apocalypse, so they will surely survive a winter in pots!!!

I can just picture a steaming cup of cocoa on your mug rugs. They sure are festive and ready for the winter season. Do you gift many of your knitted dish clothes ? You sure have a healthy stash of them made this year.

I usually use variegated thread for quilting a multi-color project and they seem to blend nicely. What delightful mug rugs you've made along with your pleasant colors in the dishcloth.

Hugs!

I hope your plants survive - it got down to 37 last night our coldest since fall has finally arrived. Nice that your neighbor helped dig the plants out I know that would have been hard to do with your back.

I would think that just about any variegated thread would work on all of these.
